Complete Doorset – Everything Factory Fitted

These are not loose door leaves and a separate frame – they are supplied as a complete, factory assembled doorset. The aluminium fixing sub frame, door panels, concealed hinges, locks, cylinder, handles, glazing, seals, flush bolts, stays and 3-part threshold are all pre-fitted and pre-aligned in the factory. On site, you lift the assembled frame and doors into the opening, fix it back to the masonry and carry out final adjustments, dramatically reducing installation time and complexity.

CarTeck Luxe side hinged doors are made to measure as standard, up to 3500mm wide in most designs. This allows you to reclaim the full width and height of your garage opening, which is especially valuable on older properties where access can be tight. By ordering to the millimetre, you minimise gaps, reduce draughts and achieve a much more “built-in” look compared to standard sized doors.

Traditional Vertical Ribbed Styling

The Traditional Standard Ribbed Vertical design recreates the appearance of a classic timber pair of doors, with elegant vertical ribs running the full height of each leaf. This styling works perfectly on 1930s and 1940s homes, cottages, bungalows and many newer properties where a more traditional look is preferred. You can choose between equal split (50/50) leaf configurations or asymmetric layouts on related Luxe models where you want a wider main access leaf.

Glazing & Window Designs

Luxe Traditional doors can be specified with high quality glazing to mirror the look of period doors with top lights. Scratch resistant polymer double glazed units or attractive multi-pane effect windows allow daylight to flood into the garage whilst maintaining privacy and security. Window shapes and patterns are carefully proportioned to suit the door size, ensuring the finished door looks balanced and authentic, not “stuck on”.

Up to 39 Colour Options

To help you match or contrast with windows, front doors and other exterior finishes, the Luxe range offers up to 39 colour options, including classic whites and creams, subtle greys, deep anthracites, bold colours and wood effect finishes on related models. Frames are supplied in a smooth finish and can be colour matched to the panels for a seamless appearance around the opening.

Door Construction & Finish

CarTeck Luxe Traditional side hinged doors are built from 40mm thick, double skinned steel panels with an insulated rigid foam core, set within a fully finished aluminium sub frame. The inside face of the panels is smooth, clean and free from exposed bracing bars or surface mounted lock gear, making the interior far easier to wipe down and keep tidy. Internally, all doors are finished in a light Grey White (RAL 9002), helping to reflect light inside the garage.

Door texture options: Woodgrain, Smooth, Stucco or Micro Profile (depending on colour and design).

Traditional Glazing & Window Finish

Traditional Luxe doors are supplied as standard with attractive leaded-effect windows to recreate the look of a classic pair of 1940s style garage doors. If you prefer a more understated appearance, plain windows are available at no extra cost. All window units are scratch resistant polymer double glazing, designed to let in daylight whilst maintaining strength and security.

The surrounds to the windows are finished in a matching smooth finish to the frame, ensuring the glazing, frame and door panels blend together as one cohesive design.

Colour Options

Luxe Traditional doors can be specified in a wide palette of Trend and Trend+ colours, allowing you to coordinate with windows, doors and other external finishes.

Frame legs and head are smooth and white as standard, but on Luxe doors the aluminium fixing sub frame is normally finished to match the selected panel colour for a seamless look around the opening.

Aluminium Fixing Sub Frame

All CarTeck side hinged doors are factory fitted with a fully finished aluminium fixing sub frame. This ensures tight tolerances where the door hinges and closes, simplifies installation and removes the need for a separate timber frame. Each doorset is made to order to maximise the usable width and height of your opening. Doors can be specified as left or right hand leading leaf (viewed from the outside).

3-Part Threshold with Bulb Seal

A 3-part threshold system is now supplied as standard on all CarTeck side hinged garage doors. It incorporates a new bulb seal to improve weather sealing at the bottom of the door. Because it is supplied in three parts, the threshold can be extended beyond the frame legs to create a neater finish and lined through with adjacent openings if required. Locking, Hardware & Security

3-Point Locking
High security 3-point locking is available and is suitable for doors over 2020mm high. This enhances security by locking the active leaf at multiple points along its height.

Lock Cylinder Security Upgrade
CarTeck has upgraded the Euro profile cylinder to make security higher and replacement keys easier to obtain locally. Key benefits include:

• BS EN1303 Cylinder Security Grade 2.
• Anti-drill and anti-pick design.
• 3 keys supplied as standard.
• Break-off system – a sacrificial front section is designed to snap away under attack, while leaving enough cylinder in place for the lock to still be operated with your key.

Handles & General Hardware
High grade stainless steel handles and lock covers are both tough and attractive. Hardware includes:

• DIN standard CE marked European sash lock.
• Pair of stainless steel round bar lever handles on 50mm diameter roses.
• Euro profile cylinder and internal thumb turn with stainless steel escutcheons as standard (double cylinder, key both sides, available as an option).
• The inactive leaf is fitted with recessed lever action flush bolts at the top and bottom for secure locking.
• A stay is fitted to each leaf to hold the door open while in use.

Double Seals & Mitred Corners
For superior draught reduction, there is a continuous circumferential seal around each door leaf and an additional three-sided seal on the frame. Frame profiles are mitre jointed at the corners for a clean, precise finish.

Concealed Hinges

As part of ongoing product development, all CarTeck side hinged doors now use concealed hinges. These bring several advantages:

• Easier trimming and finishing around the frame, as there are no surface mounted hinge knuckles at the edge.
• Only two hinges per leaf are required, making alignment and adjustment quicker.
• A sleeker, more contemporary appearance.
• No additional cost compared to previous hinge designs.
• Improved security by removing a visible point of attack and making it harder to lever the door open from the hinge side.

Installation Guidance – Made to Measure as Standard

Every CarTeck 40mm Luxe Traditional side hinged garage door is made to measure as standard. This means the doorset is manufactured to your exact brickwork opening sizes (allowing for the correct fitting tolerances), so you are not trying to “make do” with a standard size. You benefit from maximum clear opening width and height, tighter seals and a far neater finished appearance.

1. Measuring Before You Order

Before ordering, carefully measure the structural brickwork opening width and height in at least three places (top, middle, bottom for width; left, centre, right for height). Use the smallest measurements and check that the reveals and lintel are reasonably plumb and level. These clear opening sizes are what you provide for your made to measure doorset – the factory will calculate the finished frame sizes and tolerances from these figures.

2. Delivered as a Complete Doorset

CarTeck Luxe side hinged doors are supplied as a fully assembled doorset. The aluminium fixing frame, door leaves, hinges, locks, seals and glazing are all factory fitted and pre-aligned. This eliminates the need to hang door leaves separately on site. Once unpacked, the frame and doors are lifted into the opening as one unit, making installation faster, cleaner and more predictable.

3. Fitting the Aluminium Sub Frame

With the old garage door and frame removed and the opening cleaned back to sound masonry, the new aluminium frame is positioned into the reveal. Use packers and a spirit level to ensure the frame is perfectly plumb, level and square, then drill and fix through the pre-designated fixing points into the brickwork. Check the operation of both leaves as you go and make minor hinge or latch adjustments if required.

4. Threshold & Final Sealing

The supplied 3-part threshold is then positioned and fixed in line with the frame legs, creating a continuous base for the bulb seal and improving weather protection at floor level. Because it is in three pieces, you can extend it slightly beyond the frame legs for a neat transition to adjacent paving or doorways. Finally, any small gaps between frame and brickwork are neatly sealed with a suitable external grade sealant or trim.

5. Post-Installation Checks

Once installed, check that:

• Both leaves open and close freely without fouling the floor or reveals.
• The locks engage smoothly and the compression seals make consistent contact all round.
• The stays hold the doors open securely at the desired angle.

Because these doors are factory assembled and made to measure, a competent installer or experienced DIYer can achieve an excellent, professional result with far less time and adjustment than a traditional, site-built timber door and frame.

The warranty periods apply to doors that have been correctly installed, maintained and cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

10-Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee

• •  On panels against rust penetration from the inside to the outside.
• •  Against door panel separation of the steel skins from the inner foam core.
• •  On material and manufacturing flaws of all non-moving parts of the frame that are verifiably unusable.
• •  On the floor seal, intermediate seals and frame weather seals against rotting.

5-Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee

• •  On factory paint finishes against peeling and blistering (excluding normal colour fade and excluding coastal locations). Note: A specific 3-year guarantee applies to coastal installations, providing the door was ordered with the official coastal paint upgrade.

2-Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee

• •  On all hardware and moving components, including window units, hinges, locks, handles and door stays (based on standard use of up to 5 open/close cycles per day).

Please note: The guarantee does not apply to doors that are subjected to extreme conditions, such as corrosive influences resulting from use in a coastal climate with high salt content, unless the relevant coastal paint upgrades were specified at the point of order. Regular cleaning of the door finish is required to maintain the warranty.

Ordering: The ordering dimensions refer to the OVERALL width and height of the door and sub fixing frame combined and the door is delivered with the frame already factory fitted.
