By removing all horizontal ribs and traditional Georgian squares, this flush panel design provides a completely clean expanse of steel that looks incredibly striking on contemporary architectural builds and modern home renovations. This product is supplied as a complete electric insulated sectional garage door package. It arrives with the exact CarTeck electric motor drive and all the vital components required for you to install a highly engineered, fully insulated door.

A Complete Electric Automation Package

Every AutoTrend package is ready to operate straight away with a premium CarTeck motor included as standard. Depending on the specific dimensions of your door, you will receive either the robust L60 or the heavy duty L75 motor system. You get a fantastic choice of control accessories, starting with two multi channel remote control transmitters included as standard, so you can open your garage smoothly without leaving your car. For larger door sizes, a wireless wall switch is also provided, and you can easily expand your system later with wireless keypads or smartphone control options.

Top Reasons to Choose a Sectional Garage Door

Sectional garage doors provide some of the most practical benefits available for any modern property. Here are the main reasons why homeowners are upgrading:

  • Brilliant use of space: The panels open vertically and track backwards across the ceiling, allowing you to park your vehicle right up close to the door both inside and out.
  • Excellent insulation: The forty millimetre thick insulated steel panels feature a high density foam core, helping to keep your garage warmer, drier and completely free from draughts.
  • Maximum drive through width: Because the door sits behind the brickwork and lifts vertically, you benefit from the absolute maximum width and height of your garage opening every single time.
  • High security: The solid, flat steel panels combined with the active mechanical resistance of the electric motor provide outstanding protection against forced entry attempts.

Why Choose the CarTeck Brand?

CarTeck is widely celebrated for premium engineering and exceptional build quality. When you compare CarTeck to other manufacturers, several exclusive benefits make it the clear choice for your home:

  • German Engineered, British Built: You get the very best of precision German engineering combined with UK manufacturing. Because these doors are built in Warrington, Cheshire, CarTeck offers some of the fastest and most reliable delivery times on the market.
  • Made to Measure at No Extra Cost: Every AutoTrend door is manufactured exactly to your specific garage opening dimensions. There are no extra cut down charges, ensuring a far neater fit, smoother running and a visually superior finish compared to standard off the shelf sizes.
  • The Widest Range of High Quality Colours: You can select from twenty beautiful, UK relevant standard colour finishes to perfectly complement the exterior of your home, all available at the exact same price as white.
  • Smarter, Safer Installation: CarTeck uses highly advanced concealed extension springs (tension springs) safely hidden away in protective steel trays high up in the tracks. This completely removes the need for ugly, exposed torsion springs that gather dust and rust. It also makes installation significantly simpler, faster and safer.
  • Maximum Space with Minimum Headroom: CarTeck offers the widest range of sizes and the absolute best mechanism for providing maximum drive through space. The brilliant low profile design requires just 120 millimetres of headroom as standard.
  • Market Leading Warranty: You get the best back up service and warranty of any brand, including a ten year manufacturer guarantee on the panels against rust penetration and a five year guarantee on the motor and moving mechanical parts.

How to Order Your Made to Measure Door

Every CarTeck AutoTrend door is made to measure specifically for your garage opening. To get a price, simply use the dropdown menus to select the nearest size bracket that your dimensions fall into (the 'up to' size). You only need to enter your exact manufacturing measurements into the separate text boxes if you are proceeding to place an order. If you are just checking prices, you can leave those exact size boxes blank.

Choose Your Door Panel Colour and Finish

Select your preferred powder coat colour from twenty of our most popular high quality Trend colours, all available at no additional cost. You can also choose between a smooth or woodgrain surface texture for the exterior face. Please note: If your garage door is exposed to lengthy periods of direct sunlight, we generally recommend avoiding very dark colours to prevent excessive heat absorption.

Fixing Frame Profile Colour

Choose the colour you require for the outer steel frame system. Although many sectional garage doors are fitted behind the garage opening so the main frame is hidden, you will still see the inside edge of the frame legs. The standard frame finish is Traffic White (RAL 9016), but if any part of your frame will be visible, or if you are fitting between the brickwork, you can choose to have the frame colour matched to your door panels for a seamless look. All frame parts are supplied in a smooth finish.

Installation Position

Please tell us whether you are fitting the door behind the brickwork or in between the structural opening. While sectional doors are traditionally installed behind the opening to maximise drive through space, they can easily be fitted in between the aperture if you have internal obstacles or lack the required return space. When measuring for an 'in between' fit, you must carefully deduct the width of the frame legs and header section, allowing for a small fitting tolerance. Please see our measuring guide for full details.

In Between Opening Installation Kit

If you are choosing to fit your door in between the structural opening, you must select this kit. It provides the specific twist fix brackets and stiffeners required to securely anchor the frame legs and header directly to the brickwork reveals.

Electric Motor Specifications

Because this is a complete electric package, the correct CarTeck motor is automatically specified based on the door size you choose. Doors up to 4877mm wide receive the CarTeck MOTOR L60, while doors over 4877mm wide receive the more powerful MOTOR L75 as standard. Both highly advanced motors feature incredibly smooth operation, built in LED courtesy lighting, intelligent safety obstruction sensing, and two multi channel remote control transmitters included as standard. The L75 model operates at a slightly faster opening speed and also includes a wireless wall switch. You can choose to upgrade to the L75 motor on smaller doors if you prefer these extra features.

Additional Control Accessories

You can expand your electric operator system by adding these convenient accessories:

  • Wireless Keypad: Suitable for internal or external use. Set up a secure four digit PIN code to effortlessly access your garage without needing to carry a key or handset, and easily create temporary codes for visitors.
  • Wireless Wall Control: A neat, battery powered two channel wall switch for internal use. It allows you to operate up to two doors from one convenient location without hunting for your remote.

Emergency External Release (Essential for garages with no other entrance)

If your garage door is the only way to get into your garage, you must add an emergency manual release mechanism. This discreet, key operated cylinder is fitted to the outside of the door panel. In the event of a power cut, it allows you to manually disengage the electric motor from the outside so you can lift the door by hand.

Handle Options

Because this door is electrically operated as standard and held securely closed by the motor drive, no external handle is fitted to the door panels.

High Performance Construction

The CarTeck AutoTrend is a premium, vertically rising sectional garage door built for strength, insulation and security. It features highly engineered 40mm thick double skinned steel panels with a PUR foam core, combined with unique concealed tension spring balancing located high up in the tracks for maximum safety and incredibly smooth operation.

Fitted CarTeck Sectional Door Performance

As part of the strict CE/UKCA marking process, every CarTeck door is independently tested and certified to ensure you receive a garage door that genuinely performs. The following table shows the impressive performance characteristics of a fully installed CarTeck sectional garage door:

  • Resistance to Windload (EN 12424): Class 2
  • Watertightness (EN 12425): Class 2
  • Air Permeability (EN 12426): Class 2
  • Thermal Transmittance (EN 13241): 1.38 W/m²K
  • Operating Forces (hand operated) (EN 12604): 150 N

Understanding Insulation & U-Values

When comparing insulated garage doors, it is vital to know exactly what is being measured. The CarTeck 40mm thick steel panels have an incredible insulating value that has been independently tested to 0.56 W/m²K (the lower the value, the better the insulation). However, a garage door is more than just a single panel.

Teckentrup always quote the honest, real world insulation value for a complete installed door (based on an 8’0” wide x 7’0” high size). This calculation includes all the panel joints, side seals, bottom seals and header strips. A complete, fully fitted CarTeck AutoTrend sectional door has an outstanding insulation ‘U-value’ of 1.38 W/m²K. You simply won’t find better performance on any comparable garage door.

Colour Options

All AutoTrend sizes are available in a fantastic selection of CarTeck Trend Colours, and brilliant news: they are all available at the exact same price as the standard white finish.

  • White: RAL 9016
  • Bling White: TT9016 (with micaceous iron ore particles glitter effect)

Frame Specifications

The standard door fixing frame legs and head section are supplied in a smooth White finish (RAL 9016). If your frame will be visible, a colour matched upgrade is available at an additional cost to seamlessly match or purposely contrast with your chosen door colour.

Motor Rail Extensions

For any doors ordered over 2500mm high, the required extended boom rails for the electric operator are automatically calculated and added to your order. This essential upgrade is already included within the price of the door.

Crucial Measuring Deductions

Fitting Between the Opening:
If you are fitting your sectional door in between the brickwork opening, you must deduct 180mm from your structural opening width to determine your final ordering width. You must also ensure you leave adequate tolerance for fitting.

Height Deductions:
You need to deduct 140mm from your opening height to determine the ordering height for an electrically operated door. (If you are purchasing the additional twist fix header bracket, this deduction reduces to 120mm). If you are ordering a manual door, the deduction is 120mm.

Please Note: For any door heights over 2250mm, the frame legs cannot be supplied undrilled.

Smarter, Faster Installation

The CarTeck AutoTrend has been specifically designed to be the simplest and fastest sectional garage door to install on the market. Because every door is made to measure to your exact structural opening, there is no need for awkward on site cutting or difficult panel adjustments. You receive a door that fits perfectly straight out of the packaging.

A Single, Simple Lifting Gear

Unlike other manufacturers that use multiple, complicated torsion spring setups depending on the door size or available headroom, CarTeck uses one highly advanced lifting system across almost the entire range. The door is balanced by high quality extension springs (tension springs) that are safely concealed inside protective steel trays positioned high up in the horizontal tracks.

  • Low Headroom as Standard: Because the springs are neatly tucked away in the tracks rather than mounted on a bulky front or rear torsion bar, the AutoTrend requires just 120mm of headroom as standard.
  • Safer and Cleaner: The concealed trays keep the springs free from dust, dirt and rust, ensuring smooth and quiet operation while keeping them safely out of reach of inquisitive fingers.
  • Easy Adjustment: The unique 'pull and place' tension adjustment system means balancing the door takes minutes. There is no need for dangerous winding bars or complicated tensioning procedures.

Installation Positions & Clearances

You can choose to install your CarTeck door either behind the structural opening (back fix) or directly within the opening (between fix).

  • Fitting Behind the Opening: This is the traditional and recommended method, as it maximises your drive through width and height. The standard frame requires 85mm of sideroom on each side and 120mm of headroom above the opening.
  • Fitting Between the Opening: If you do not have the required internal face brickwork, the door can be fitted between the reveals. When ordering for a between fit, you must select the 'In Between Opening Installation Kit'. Remember to carefully deduct the 85mm frame legs (170mm total) from your opening width, and 120mm from your opening height, whilst also allowing for your own fitting tolerances.

Convenient Flat Pack Delivery

To make handling and installation as easy and safe as possible, AutoTrend doors are delivered flat packed. This eliminates the need to heave around heavy, oversized crates, making it much easier to move the panels safely into your garage ready for assembly.

CarTeck AutoTrend Warranty Details

When you choose a CarTeck AutoTrend sectional garage door, you are investing in premium German engineering built for long term reliability. Teckentrup provides one of the most comprehensive and transparent warranties in the industry, giving you complete peace of mind.

Please note: The warranty periods outlined below only apply to products that have been correctly installed as per the manufacturer's instructions, maintained by a professional when required, and operated and cleaned in accordance with the requirements set out in the operating and maintenance manuals.

10 Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee

  • On all steel panels against rust penetration from the inside to the outside.
  • Against door panel separation (the separation of the steel skin from the internal insulating foam).
  • On material and manufacturing flaws for all non-moving parts of the fixing frame that are verifiably unusable or whose usability is substantially compromised.
  • On the bottom floor seal, intermediate panel seals, side seals and lintel seals against rotting.

5 Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee

  • On all moving mechanical components, including rollers, hinges, cable pulleys, lifting cables and standard springs (based on an opening/closing cycle of maximum five times a day).
  • On the CarTeck electric motor covering mechanical defects, material flaws and manufacturing faults (based on a maximum of five opening/closing cycles a day).
  • On the paint finish against peeling and blistering (this excludes normal colour fade over time).

2 Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee

  • On the polymer and aluminium window units (if your chosen door design features glazing).

Important Warranty Exclusions

The standard guarantees do not apply to doors that are subjected to extreme environmental conditions. For example, the 5 year paint finish guarantee excludes doors installed in coastal areas where the climate has a high salt content, which causes highly corrosive influences. Furthermore, consumable items such as hand transmitter batteries, light bulbs and fuses are not included within the warranty terms.

If fitting between the opening, please deduct 180mm from the opening width to determine the ordering width.
Deduct 120mm for manual doors and 140mm for electric operation (unless the additional fitting bracket is purchased then 120mm applies) from the opening height to determine the ordering height.

Measuring guide for Carteck Autotrend Sectional Doors

How to Measure for Your CarTeck AutoTrend Sectional Door

Because every CarTeck AutoTrend door is made to measure at no extra cost, getting your measurements right means you will benefit from a perfect fit and a seamless installation. The dimensions you use to place your order are the Drive Through Sizes (the clear opening width and height between the door frames once installed).

Before you begin, grab a tape measure, a spirit level and a notepad. Always measure the structural opening in at least three places (top, middle, bottom for width; left, centre, right for height) to check if the brickwork is square.

1. Fitting Behind the Opening (Standard Back Fix)

This is the most common and recommended way to install a sectional garage door. The door and its steel frame are fitted to the inside face of the garage brickwork, maximising your drive through width and height.

  • Ordering Width: Measure your structural brickwork opening width. Your ordering width is exactly the same as your opening width. The 85mm steel frame legs will sit neatly hidden behind the brickwork on either side.
  • Ordering Height: Measure your structural brickwork opening height from floor to lintel. Your ordering height is exactly the same as your opening height. The 120mm steel header frame will sit concealed behind the lintel.
  • Internal Clearances Required: You must ensure you have a minimum of 85mm of clear brickwork (sideroom) on the left and right inside the garage, and a minimum of 120mm of clear headroom above the opening lintel to accommodate the tracks and motor.

2. Fitting Between the Opening (Between Fix)

If you do not have the required internal face brickwork, or you have internal obstacles, the door and frame can be installed directly between the brickwork reveals. Because the frame legs and header will sit inside the aperture, you must deduct these from your opening sizes to find your final ordering size.

  • Ordering Width: Take your smallest structural opening width and deduct 180mm. This deduction accounts for the two 85mm frame legs (170mm total) plus a 10mm tolerance to ensure the frame fits comfortably into the opening.
  • Ordering Height: Take your smallest structural opening height and deduct 140mm for a standard electrically operated door. (Note: If you are purchasing the additional twist fix header bracket, this deduction reduces to 120mm).

3. Checking Your Depth into the Garage

Because sectional doors track backwards horizontally into the garage along the ceiling, you need to ensure the space is clear of obstructions.

  • Check the ceiling area for structural beams, lighting fixtures, loft hatches, or pipework.
  • The horizontal tracks and the electric motor boom require clear space extending back into the garage. As a general rule, you will need the height of your door plus an additional 700mm to 1000mm of depth to comfortably accommodate the electric motor rail.

Important Note: If you are fitting between the opening, remember to select the 'In Between Opening Installation Kit' and choose your preferred 'Fixing Frame Profile Colour' so the visible frame matches or complements your door perfectly.
