The 40mm thick insulated steel panels are already pre-hung within a high-quality hollow section aluminium outer sub frame. Once unpacked, the entire unit is ready to be stood in the opening, levelled, and fixed into place. It even includes clever wind-out lugs to make squaring the frame effortless.

Standard UK Replacement Sizes

To keep ordering simple, the Switch range is available in six specific over-frame sizes that perfectly match the most common UK garage openings (including standard new build dimensions). The sizes shown in the dropdown menu are the exact overall frame sizes of the door unit.

These sizes have already been precisely calculated to replace traditional 7'0" x 6'6", 7'0" x 7'0", 7'6" x 6'6", and 7'6" x 7'0" up and over doors. The factory has already reduced the overall frame size by 20mm on the width and 10mm on the height compared to the old structural opening, allowing you the perfect tolerance for a smooth, stress-free installation.

Measuring Guide & Standard Sizes

The CarTeck Switch range is ingeniously designed for a straight swap with many existing standard UK garage doors. Because this doorset comes complete with its own factory fitted hollow section aluminium sub frame, measuring is incredibly straightforward. Simply measure the clear brickwork opening left after completely removing your old door and existing timber frame.

To ensure a perfect fit, the overall over frame sizes of the CarTeck Switch doors are manufactured slightly smaller than the actual brickwork opening. This clever design automatically allows for a 20mm fitting tolerance on the total width and a 10mm fitting tolerance on the height. Furthermore, installation is made even easier as the doors feature built in wind out lugs, meaning no packers are required!
