Total Smart Control With TaHoma Switch
The included Somfy TaHoma Switch connects your garage door to your home WiFi network and enables smartphone control through the TaHoma app. Use the app to open, close and check the status of your garage door from a compatible smartphone or tablet.
Multiple household users can be given access through their own smartphones. You also receive two Somfy io remote handsets for convenient everyday operation from your vehicle or driveway.
TaHoma Switch supports compatible Somfy io-homecontrol, RTS and Zigbee 3.0 products, as well as selected smart-home partners. You can add compatible products now or later to create a more connected home.

Rollixo Premium io Remote Control
The GDO SmartRoll 77 Total Smart uses the Somfy Rollixo Premium io control system. Its two way io-homecontrol technology provides live communication between the door, motor and TaHoma app.
The internal wall mounted Rollixo Premium io control panel includes open and close buttons, diagnostic indicators and an automatic courtesy light with an adjustable switch-off duration.
Two Somfy io remote handsets are included as standard, providing convenient control from the vehicle, driveway or home.
Security, Safety and Auto Close
An integrated anti-lift alarm helps deter attempted forced opening. If an attempt is made to raise the curtain while the door is closed, the Rollixo Premium io control system triggers an audible alarm.
The door is fitted with a wired optical safety edge within the bottom weather seal. If an obstacle is detected while the door is closing, the door stops and automatically reverses to help protect people, vehicles and property.
Infrared safety beams are included as standard. These monitor the garage opening during closing and provide additional safety protection for smartphone operation, smart functions and compatible automatic closing settings.
Once all safety devices have been installed, aligned and tested correctly, you can configure the door to close automatically after a pre-set period following full opening. This is useful if you want extra reassurance that the garage door is not left open.
Full Hood Included at Every Size
Every GDO SmartRoll 77 Total Smart door includes a full powder coated aluminium box hood as standard, at every available size.
The full hood encloses the curtain roll, steel barrel and operating components, apart from the opening where the curtain enters the side guides. It creates a smart, fully finished appearance while helping protect the mechanism from dust, wind blown debris, accidental contact and weather exposure.
The full hood and heavy duty brush lined side guides are supplied in the same colour as your selected curtain finish. Please contact us before ordering if you would like to discuss contrasting hood or guide colours.
Strong, Insulated Construction
The GDO SmartRoll 77 is manufactured in the UK using 77mm deep, double skinned aluminium slats with an insulated foam filled core. The curtain rolls compactly above the opening, helping you retain useful garage space.
The door is made to measure to your exact width and height requirements, with sizes available up to 5200mm wide including guides and up to 2900mm guide height.
Doors up to 3000mm wide use 75mm side guides. Doors over 3000mm wide use 90mm guides, reducing the clear opening width by 180mm compared with the overall ordering width.

Manual Override and External Access
An internal manual winding handle is supplied as standard for use during a power cut. It connects to the motor drive and allows the door to be opened or closed manually from inside the garage.
Choose the motor, power cable and manual override position on the left or right side when viewed from inside the garage.
If your garage has no separate pedestrian entrance, select the optional low level external manual release to allow access and manual operation from outside during a power failure.
How to Order Your Made to Measure Door
Ordering your GDO SmartRoll 77 Total Smart is straightforward. Measure your garage opening and select the nearest “up to” size from the drop down menu to choose the correct price band.
Then enter your exact required Over Guide Width (OGW) and Guide Height (GH) in millimetres in the ordering boxes. Your door will be manufactured to your precise measurements for a tailored fit.
The GDO SmartRoll 77 Total Smart is available up to 5200mm wide and 2900mm guide height. Allow approximately 300mm above the guide height for the curtain roll, endplates and included full hood enclosure.

Included Total Smart Control Package
The GDO SmartRoll 77 Total Smart is supplied with a complete Somfy io-homecontrol remote, smartphone and smart-home package. No additional selection is required for normal remote, app or wall control operation.

Motor Side and Manual Override Position
Choose whether the motor, power cable and internal manual override are positioned on the left or right side when viewed from inside the garage. Select the side that best suits your available power supply and access requirements.
If your garage has no separate pedestrian entrance, select the optional low level external manual release. This allows you to access and manually operate the door from outside during a power cut.
Optional External Key Switch
Add an optional hard wired external key switch if you would like a fixed external control point in addition to the supplied remote handsets, wall control panel and smartphone app.
The key switch allows you to operate the door using a security key from outside the garage. It can be useful where several people need access, where remote controls may not always be available or where you prefer an additional fixed driveway control point.
Please note that an external key switch operates the door electrically and does not provide manual access during a power cut. Select the external low level manual release if there is no other access into your garage.
TaHoma Smart Home Setup
The included TaHoma Switch enables smartphone control and live door-status feedback through the TaHoma app. During setup, connect the hub to your home WiFi network, pair your garage door and add authorised household users.
You can also use the TaHoma Switch with compatible Somfy io-homecontrol, RTS and Zigbee 3.0 products, plus selected partner systems. This allows you to add compatible blinds, awnings, lighting, gates and other connected home products now or in the future.

GDO SmartRoll 77 Total Smart Installation Guidance & Setup
Fitting the GDO SmartRoll 77 Total Smart roller garage door is a straightforward job for a competent two person installation team. Because your door is purpose made to your exact ordering dimensions, taking time to verify your opening, levels and Wi-Fi coverage before drilling ensures a trouble free fit and smooth smart operation.
1. Pre-Installation Site Checklist
• Floor Level: Ensure the garage floor threshold is completely level across the full opening so the bottom rubber weatherseal compresses evenly and the optical safety edge operates correctly.
• Headroom Allowance: Verify you have 300mm of vertical headroom above the guide height for the 300mm x 300mm steel endplates and full aluminium box hood.
• Side Room (Face Fix): Check you have a minimum 75mm (or 90mm on doors over 3000mm wide) of solid brickwork pier on each side to fix the aluminium side guides.
• Power Supply: Position an unswitched 13 amp fused spur or mains socket within 1.5 metres of the Somfy Rollixo control unit on your chosen motor side.
• Home Wi-Fi: Check that your home Wi-Fi network operates on 2.4 GHz with good signal strength where the TaHoma Switch hub will be located inside the home or garage.
2. Mechanical Door Installation Summary
Step 1 — Assemble Frame & Hood: Insert the steel endplate spigots into the top of each brush lined aluminium side guide channel on a flat floor to form a rigid U-frame. Slide the top and back sections of the aluminium full hood into the endplate channels.
Step 2 — Position and Secure: Lift the assembled frame against the opening. Use a spirit level to check both guides are plumb and the endplates are level across the top. Fasten the guides to the brickwork using appropriate heavy duty fixings at approx 500mm centres.
Step 3 — Mount Motor, Barrel & Brake: Position the Somfy tubular motor into the drive endplate and mount the steel barrel and anti-drop safety brake onto the dummy endplate. Confirm the barrel rotates freely and secure the safety retaining pins.
Step 4 — Feed Curtain & Top Straps: Carefully feed the insulated aluminium curtain down into the side guides. Attach the top slat to the barrel using the heavy duty anti-lift locking straps, spacing them evenly across the barrel.
Step 5 — Mount the Rollixo Panel: Fix the Somfy Rollixo Premium io panel to the internal wall at approx chest height. Connect the motor cable, bottom safety edge transmitter, cross threshold photocell beams and mains power following the included wiring schematic.
Step 6 — Set Limits & Test Alarm: Set the upper and lower motor stop limits. Test the bottom optical safety edge and verify that the built in 100 dB anti-force alarm arms when the curtain is fully closed.
Step 7 — Close Hood Fascia: Clip and fasten the front fascia panel of the aluminium full hood to complete the weather enclosure.
3. Somfy TaHoma Switch Smart Hub Setup
Setting up your TaHoma Switch takes only a few minutes using your smartphone:
Step 1 — Power Up the Hub: Place your TaHoma Switch in a central location within range of your home Wi-Fi router and plug in the supplied Micro USB power cable. The LED status light will flash blue when ready for setup.
Step 2 — Download the TaHoma App: Download the free Somfy TaHoma app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and create or log in to your Somfy account.
Step 3 — Connect to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi: Open the app, select Add TaHoma Switch, accept the Bluetooth pairing prompt, and select your home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter your Wi-Fi password to bring the hub online (the LED light turns solid white).
Step 4 — Pair the Rollixo Premium io Unit: In the TaHoma app, tap Add Equipment, choose Garage Door & Gate, and select Somfy Rollixo io. Press the Prog button on your Rollixo panel for 2 seconds until the indicator flashes, then confirm pairing in the app. The app will immediately establish 2-way communication and display your door's live status.
Step 5 — Configure Voice & Scenarios: Link your Somfy account within the Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Shortcuts apps to enable voice commands. You can also assign the two top physical buttons on the TaHoma Switch to custom scenes such as Leaving Home or Arriving Home.
4. Critical Fitting Tips & Advice
• Wi-Fi Band: The TaHoma Switch requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band. If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz into one name, temporarily split the bands or connect via the 2.4 GHz channel during initial setup.
• Auto Close Safety: If activating the timed automatic closing feature in the Rollixo panel, always ensure the included cross threshold photoelectric safety beams are cleanly aligned and tested.
• Manual Override Check: Always test the manual winding handle before handing over the installation to ensure easy manual operation during a power cut.
