New Hormann Silkgrain Finishes for Sectional Doors

Back in March Hormann announced the new 'Titan' silkgrain finish and this was to replace the laminate foil coating previously referred to as 'Titan Metallic'. This new finish is a tough new paint finish with ultra high stcratch resistance and a different texture feel. The Titan metallic still exists on the Horman Thermopro range of entrance doors but is no longer manufactured in the LPU 40 sectional door range.

Will they match you ask, well yes, they are different but the match is fairly good and it is a step forward in many ways as the price is lower for this new finish on the sectional doors.
In isolation this new surface finish is universally accepted as better than the old paint finishes and in the Titan finish does have the same effect as the lamiante foil coating had previously.

The other 15 silkgrain colours are also now the same surface finish and any samples anyone has dating pre May 2013 should be ignored if there is a real need to match another RAL colour on the building.

So to summarise all Hormann LPU40 sectional garage doors in any size and in the SILKGRAIN finish only have a new surface finish, even the standard white so if colour matching is very important to you then check these changes carefully. The woodgrain, micrograin and Decograin finishes all stay the same.

The new Hormann sectional door brochure recently released also shows a range of new 'Duragrain' finishes but these are not yet available in the UK.
