Smartphone Control Through the TaHoma App
The included Somfy Connectivity Kit allows you to operate your garage door through the free TaHoma app on a compatible smartphone or tablet. Check and control the door whether you are at home, at work or away from the property, provided your home system and smartphone have an internet connection.
Multiple smartphones can be given access, making it easy for family members to operate the door without relying solely on remote handsets. Two Somfy Keygo remote handsets are still included as standard for quick everyday use from your vehicle or driveway.
Voice control may also be available through a compatible Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant setup.
Smart Control Without the Complexity
This model includes the Somfy Connectivity Kit, providing practical app control for your garage door and compatible Somfy products. The kit can control up to 20 compatible Somfy RTS and io homecontrol devices, including selected blinds, shutters, awnings, lighting and other motorised products.

Somfy Rollixo Premium Remote Control
The GDO SmartRoll 77 Premium is supplied with the Somfy Rollixo Premium RTS control system. The wall mounted control panel includes integrated open and close buttons, diagnostic LED indicators and an automatic timed courtesy light.
Two Somfy Keygo 4 RTS remote handsets are included for convenient operation from your vehicle, driveway or home.
An integrated anti lift alarm monitors the door when closed. If an attempt is made to force or lift the curtain, the system sounds an audible alarm to alert you to possible tampering.
Enhanced Safety and Auto Close
The door is fitted with a wired optical safety edge in the bottom weather seal. If the closing door detects an obstacle on contact, it stops and automatically reverses to help protect people, vehicles and property.
Infrared safety beams are included as standard. These monitor the garage opening while the door is closing and provide additional protection for smartphone operation and automated smart control functions.
Once the infrared safety beams have been fitted, aligned and tested correctly, the door can be configured to close automatically after a pre-set time following full opening. This is useful when you want added reassurance that the garage door is not accidentally left open.

Strong, Insulated Construction
GDO insulated roller doors are manufactured in the UK for GarageDoorsOnline by SWS UK. The GDO SmartRoll 77 Premium uses 77mm deep, double skinned aluminium slats with an insulated foam filled core.
The curtain rolls compactly above the opening, helping retain useful garage space while providing a robust and insulated garage door solution.
Made to Measure Sizes
The GDO SmartRoll 77 Premium is available made to measure up to 5200mm wide, including the side guides, and up to 2900mm guide height.
Allow approximately 300mm above the guide height for the curtain roll, endplates and full hood enclosure.
Doors up to 3000mm wide use 75mm side guides. Doors over 3000mm wide use 90mm guides, reducing the clear opening width by 180mm compared with the overall ordering width.
Manual Override and External Access
An internal manual winding handle is supplied as standard for use during a power cut. It connects to the motor drive and allows the door to be opened or closed manually from inside the garage.
Choose the motor, power cable and manual override position on the left or right side when viewed from inside the garage.
If your garage has no separate pedestrian entrance, select the optional low level external manual release. This allows access and manual operation from outside during a power failure.

Motor Side and Manual Override Position
Choose whether the motor, power cable and internal manual override are positioned on the left or right side when viewed from inside the garage. Select the side that best suits your available power supply and access requirements.
If your garage has no separate pedestrian entrance, select the optional low level external manual release. This allows you to access and manually operate the door from outside during a power cut.
Optional External Key Switch
Add an optional hard wired external key switch if you would like a fixed external control point as well as the supplied remote handsets and smartphone control.
The key switch allows you to operate the door using a security key from outside the garage. It is useful where several people need access, where remote handsets may not always be available or where you prefer an additional fixed driveway control point.
Please note that an external key switch operates the door electrically and does not provide manual access during a power cut. Select the external low level manual release if there is no other access into your garage.
Additional Somfy Controls and Accessories
The Somfy Rollixo Premium RTS system can be paired with compatible Somfy RTS accessories. Add further Keygo remote handsets, a wireless keypad or compatible controls for additional household users, multiple garage doors or driveway gates.

The GDO SmartRoll 77 Premium is a made to measure electric roller garage door manufactured from 77mm deep, double skinned aluminium slats with an insulated foam filled core.
The curtain provides a strong, insulated solution for single and double garages while rolling compactly above the opening to help retain useful garage space. Every door is manufactured to your exact width and height requirements for a precise fit.
Somfy Rollixo Premium Remote Control
This model uses the Somfy Rollixo Premium RTS control system with a Somfy electric motor drive. The wall mounted Rollixo Premium control panel includes integrated open and close buttons, diagnostic LED indicators and an automatic timed courtesy light.
Two Somfy Keygo 4 RTS remote handsets are included as standard for convenient everyday operation from your vehicle, driveway or home.
The Rollixo Premium system includes an integrated anti lift alarm. When the door is closed, the system monitors the curtain and sounds an audible alarm if an attempt is made to force or lift the door.

Roll, Endplates and Headroom
The curtain rolls around a durable steel barrel supported by steel endplates on each side. Allow approximately 300mm above the guide height for the curtain roll, steel barrel, endplates and full hood enclosure.
When the door is fully open, allow up to 110mm for the bottom slat to hang down within the guides. This should be considered where maximum clear drive through height is important for a vehicle, roof box or stored equipment.

Guides, Sizes and Clear Openings
Your ordering size is stated as Over Guide Width (OGW) x Guide Height (GH). Over Guide Width is the total width of the curtain and both side guides combined.
The aluminium side guides are approximately 34mm deep and supplied in one of two widths depending on the overall door width. Always allow for the guides, endplates, full hood and required fixing space when checking the available installation area.

The maximum overall door width, including guides, is 5200mm. The maximum guide height is 2900mm. At the maximum guide height, allow approximately 300mm above the guides for the curtain roll, steel barrel, endplates and full hood enclosure, creating an overall height of around 3200mm.
The maximum door width at the maximum 2900mm guide height is 4600mm.
Fitting Positions
Between the Opening
The door is fitted within the structural opening. This gives a recessed appearance, but the side guides reduce the available clear opening width and the bottom slat hang down reduces the available clear opening height.
Behind the Opening
The door is fitted to the wall face behind the structural opening. This is the most popular fitting position because it provides the maximum available clear opening width and height.
Behind opening fitting can also be used for external installation. In this situation, the motor handing and curtain orientation are reversed. The included full hood provides suitable protection for the curtain roll and operating components.
Manual Override and External Access
An internal manual winding handle is supplied as standard for use during a power cut. It connects to the motor drive and allows the door to be operated manually from inside the garage.

Before You Start
The GDO SmartRoll 77 Premium is designed for installation by a competent DIY installer or experienced tradesperson. Every door is made to measure, but accurate surveying and correct fitting are essential for safe, reliable operation.
Before starting, check that the garage opening is square, the floor is level, the fixing surfaces are structurally sound and there is enough side room and headroom for the guides, endplates and full hood enclosure.
Safety note: At least two people are required to safely lift and position the curtain, barrel and motor assembly. Take care when handling heavy components, working at height and connecting the electrical supply.
Space Required
Allow approximately 300mm above the guide height for the curtain roll, steel barrel, endplates and full aluminium hood enclosure.
For behind opening fitting, make sure there is sufficient solid wall or frame material on both sides of the opening to secure the guide rails:
- Doors up to 3000mm wide: Allow at least 75mm of suitable fixing surface on each side.
- Doors over 3000mm wide: Allow at least 90mm of suitable fixing surface on each side.
Check the location of the mains electrical supply before starting. The Somfy Rollixo Premium control panel, Somfy Connectivity Kit and electrical connections must be installed internally in a dry, protected location.
Fitting Positions
Behind the Opening
Behind opening fitting, also called internal face fitting, is the most popular and generally recommended installation position. The side guides are fixed to the inside wall face behind the brickwork piers.
This position provides the maximum possible clear drive through width and height. The included full hood encloses the curtain roll, barrel and operating components, creating a neat and protected finish inside the garage.
Between the Opening
Between opening fitting, also called reveal fitting, positions the guides inside the structural opening beneath the lintel. This can create a recessed appearance, but the side guides reduce the available clear opening width and the bottom slat hang down reduces the available clear opening height.
The included full hood provides a finished enclosure around the curtain roll and barrel, helping create a neat appearance where the mechanism may be visible from outside.
External Face Fit
External face fitting positions the door on the outside wall face of the garage. This can be useful where internal headroom, internal side room or internal fixing space is limited.
For external fitting, the curtain orientation and motor handing are reversed. The included full hood is essential because it protects the curtain roll, barrel and operating components from weather, wind blown debris and accidental contact. [111][112]
Installation Overview
The following steps provide a general overview. Refer to the QR code and the instructions supplied with your door for the complete fitting sequence, wiring diagram and Somfy setup procedure.
- Check the delivery: Confirm all items are present and undamaged, including the full hood sections, side guides, endplates, barrel and motor assembly, curtain, Somfy Rollixo Premium control panel, Connectivity Kit, infrared safety beams, optical safety edge components, remote handsets and accessories.
- Prepare the opening: Check that the floor is level, the opening is square and clear of obstructions, and the masonry, timber or steelwork is suitable for secure fixing.
- Prepare the guides: Mark and pre drill the guides as required for your selected fitting position and fixing surface.
- Fit the guides and full hood: Position the guide rails, endplates and full hood sections. Before tightening all fixings, check that the guides are plumb and the endplates are level.
- Install the barrel and motor: Position the Somfy motor on the selected side, then install the steel barrel and safety brake between the endplates following the supplied instructions.
- Fit the curtain: Carefully feed the insulated aluminium curtain into the guide rails and attach it to the barrel using the supplied locking straps or fixings.
- Install the manual override: Fit the manual override eye and check that the winding handle can be used safely from inside the garage during a power cut.
- Install the safety systems: Connect the wired optical safety edge and install the infrared safety beams in the required positions. Check that the beam path is clear, aligned and securely fixed.
- Install the Rollixo control panel: Mount the Somfy Rollixo Premium control panel inside the garage in a dry, protected location. Connect the motor, optical safety edge, infrared beams and mains supply exactly as shown in the supplied wiring diagram.
- Set the motor limits: Set the fully open and fully closed travel limits using the method in the supplied instructions.
- Connect the Somfy Connectivity Kit: Place the Connectivity Kit indoors within range of your home WiFi network. Follow the TaHoma app setup process to connect the kit, pair the garage door and add authorised smartphone users.
- Test the complete system: Test the remote handsets, Rollixo control panel buttons, courtesy light, anti lift alarm, manual override, optical safety edge, infrared safety beams and smartphone control before normal use.
Somfy Controls and Safety Equipment
The Somfy Rollixo Premium control panel and Connectivity Kit are not weatherproof. They must be installed inside the garage or within a suitably rated weatherproof enclosure if the door is externally fitted.
The Connectivity Kit must connect to a suitable home WiFi network to enable smartphone control through the TaHoma app. Keep remote handsets and app access under the control of authorised users only.
Do not enable smartphone controlled auto close functions until the optical safety edge and infrared safety beams have been fitted, aligned and fully tested.
Safety Checks Before Use
Test the wired optical safety edge by carefully placing a suitable obstruction beneath the bottom seal while the door is closing. The door should stop and automatically reverse when it detects contact.
Test the infrared safety beams by interrupting the beam path while the door is closing. The door should not continue to close while the safety beam is interrupted, subject to the configuration in the supplied instructions.
Before normal use, confirm that all fixings are secure, the full hood is correctly fitted, the curtain moves smoothly, the motor limits are correctly set and the door closes evenly against the floor.
