Seceuroglide Manual Insulated Roller Garage Door

Visual Design

The Seceuroglide manual insulated roller garage door shares the same overall visual appearance and aluminium slat construction as the automated versions, but operates entirely by hand. It provides the standard vertical operation of a roller door, wrapping up into a coil above the opening to save space inside the garage.

Suitability

A manual roller door is a more unique choice now, as electric operation has become the standard for most homes. It works well for garages that don't have a power supply installed, or for those using the space purely for storage where the door is hardly ever opened. If you only need to access the garage occasionally, it saves you the expense and complication of running an electrical feed.

Practical Features

The door is spring-assisted to make lifting the curtain manageable, though you still need to physically push it up and pull it down. It features handles located in the middle or bottom of the curtain for operation from either inside or outside the garage. You also get a centrally located lock built directly into the door for straightforward security.

  • Ideal when driveway space is tight, allowing you to park right up to the door
  • Maximum drive-through clearance compared to traditional up and over doors
  • Fully manual operation means no motors or control panels to maintain

Technical Specifications

Seceuroglide is the UK market leader in roller doors, and this manual version uses the exact same insulated aluminium slats as their higher specification automated models. This gives you a more stable curtain that provides better protection from the weather than a basic single-skin steel door.

Options and Variations

You have access to the same extensive range of powder-coated finishes as the rest of the Seceuroglide range, with 21 colour options available. This makes it straightforward to match the door to existing window frames, front doors, or exterior masonry.

Installation Considerations

* Manually lifting a roller door does require physical effort, even with the internal spring assistance.

A level floor is essential for the best results, as the bottom slat needs to sit flush to lock securely. You must also ensure you have sufficient headroom above the opening to accommodate the door roll.

Use Case Guidance

We wouldn't recommend this for a main garage that you use every single day or for anyone who might struggle with reaching or bending to operate the lower handles. It remains a practical, secure option specifically for remote garages, outbuildings, or simple storage spaces where a motor simply isn't needed.

What's Included

The Seceuroglide manual roller door comes complete with everything you need. Locking, handles and keys are all included as standard, so there's nothing extra to buy.

Choosing Your Size

Start by selecting the nearest 'up to' width and height from the dropdown options. Pick the next size up that covers your required opening. Once you've found the right price bracket, simply enter your exact ordering sizes into the boxes provided. The door will then be manufactured to those precise measurements.

Specification

The Seceuroglide manual insulated roller door is built using the same aluminium slat profile as the automated versions. Here are the key technical details and practical considerations for this specific manual door.

Construction and Fitting

  • All Seceuroglide Manual doors are supplied with 75mm powder-coated guide rails as standard
  • Seceuroglide Manual can only be fitted internally behind the structural opening
  • The minimum ordering width is 1000mm over the guides
  • Anti-drop devices are supplied when required at no extra cost
  • No hood covering is available, as the barrel needs to move within the endplates to accommodate the roll of the door

Manual Lock

At just 6mm thick, this newly designed lock is much slimmer than the older version. This gives a much neater fit within the Seceuroglide slat and the commercial bottom rail, whilst also providing a smoother physical operation when locking up. If needed, this lock can be easily retro-fitted onto existing products using a standard kit of parts.

Important Notes

  • * The bottom slat and locking slat may be a slightly different shade to the main curtain
  • * Powder-coated guide rails are supplied as standard, although these may also have a minor shade difference to the main curtain
  • * Seceuroglide Manual is not available with vision slats
  • * Seceuroglide Manual is not available with a box lid or fascia
  • * While traditional laminated woodgrain foils are not available on the manual door, we do offer three painted woodgrain effect finishes instead

Colour Options

You can choose from 21 painted finishes in total, which includes 18 solid powder-coated colours and 3 painted woodgrain effects.

Solid Colours

  • White RAL9016
  • Black RAL9005
  • Anthracite RAL7016
  • Graphite RAL7024
  • Slate Grey RAL7015
  • Light Grey RAL7038
  • Window Grey
  • Grey Aluminium
  • Ivory RAL1015

  • Navy Blue RAL5011
  • Duck Egg Blue BS16C33
  • Fir Green RAL6009
  • Moss Green RAL6005
  • Chartwell Green BS14C35

Painted Woodgrain Effects

These finishes give you the visual appearance of timber but are painted directly onto the aluminium rather than using a laminated foil.

  • Golden Oak
  • Irish Oak
  • Rosewood

Installation Guidance

The Seceuroglide manual roller door is designed for internal fitting only, meaning it sits behind the structural opening of the garage. Before ordering or attempting installation, it's worth going through the following points to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Before You Start

  • Check that the structural opening is square and plumb. Any significant deviation will cause problems with the guide rails and the curtain running smoothly
  • A level floor is essential. The bottom slat needs to sit flush against the floor to lock securely, so any unevenness should be addressed before fitting
  • Make sure you have enough headroom above the opening to accommodate the rolled-up curtain and barrel assembly. The taller the door, the larger the roll
  • Confirm that the internal reveals on either side are deep enough to accept the 75mm guide rails

Fitting the Guide Rails

The 75mm powder-coated guide rails fix to the inside face of the structural opening, one on each side. Make sure they're perfectly vertical using a spirit level, as even a small misalignment can affect how freely the curtain travels up and down. Fix securely into solid masonry or a suitable structural timber frame using appropriate fixings for your wall type.

Barrel and Endplate Assembly

The barrel assembly sits above the opening and is supported by the endplates on either side. Remember, there's no hood or box covering on the manual version, as the barrel needs to move within the endplates to accommodate the changing roll size as the door opens and closes. Make sure the endplates are firmly secured and level with each other.

Spring Tension

The internal springs provide assistance when lifting the curtain. Spring tension should be checked during installation to ensure the door is balanced and manageable to operate by hand. If the door feels excessively heavy or wants to fly up on its own, the tension will need adjusting. We'd always recommend referring to the manufacturer's instructions for safe adjustment of spring tension.

Lock and Handle Setup

The manual lock and handles come pre-fitted to the curtain. Once the door is hung and running in the guides, check that the lock engages cleanly and the handles are comfortable to reach. The lock should slide smoothly into position without needing to force it.

Practical Tips

  • Always allow a small amount of fitting tolerance when measuring your opening. Don't order to the absolute maximum dimensions available
  • Two people are recommended for installation, particularly when lifting the curtain and barrel assembly into position
  • Once fitted, operate the door a few times to check it runs freely in the guides without catching or binding
  • Anti-drop devices are supplied where required and should be fitted as per the manufacturer's instructions
  • Keep the guide rails clean and free from debris for the smoothest operation over time

Important Reminder

* The Seceuroglide Manual can only be fitted internally. It isn't suitable for face-fixing to the outside of the opening. If you're unsure about any aspect of the installation, it's always worth getting a professional fitter involved to make sure everything is set up correctly and safely.

Warranty Information

The Seceuroglide manual insulated roller door is covered by a manufacturer's warranty from SWS UK, the company behind the Seceuroglide brand and the UK's market leader in roller garage doors. Garagedoorsonline.co.uk is your point of contact as the seller, and we're here to help with any warranty queries that may arise.

What's Covered

  • The aluminium curtain slats and powder-coated finish are warranted against manufacturing defects, peeling and excessive fading under normal use
  • The guide rails, endplates and barrel assembly are covered against defects in materials and workmanship
  • The manual lock mechanism and handles are covered against failure under normal, everyday operation
  • Spring assist components are covered against premature failure within the warranty period
  • Anti-drop devices, where fitted, are included in the warranty

What's Not Covered

  • Damage caused during installation, particularly where fitting has not been carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
  • General wear and tear from regular use over time
  • Cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents or marks caused after delivery
  • Minor shade differences between the curtain slats, bottom rail, locking slat and guide rails. These are a known characteristic of powder-coated products and not a defect
  • Damage caused by misuse, forced entry attempts, or failure to maintain the door
  • Issues arising from fitting into an opening that isn't square, plumb, or level

Warranty Period

The standard manufacturer's warranty covers the door for a period from the date of purchase. For the exact duration and full terms, please refer to the documentation supplied with your door or contact us directly. Warranty periods can vary depending on the specific component, so it's worth keeping your proof of purchase safe.

Making a Warranty Claim

If you believe there's a fault covered under warranty, get in touch with us at garagedoorsonline.co.uk in the first instance. To help us deal with your claim as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready:

  • Your original order number and date of purchase
  • A clear description of the issue you're experiencing
  • Photographs showing the fault, where possible
  • Confirmation of when the door was installed and by whom

We'll liaise directly with SWS UK on your behalf to get things resolved. In most cases, replacement parts can be sent out to site without needing to return the entire door.

Maintaining Your Warranty

To keep your warranty valid, a small amount of regular upkeep goes a long way:

  • Keep the guide rails clean and free from dirt and debris
  • Wipe down the curtain periodically with a soft cloth and mild soapy water
  • Check that the lock engages smoothly and lubricate the mechanism if it starts to feel stiff
  • Don't force the door if it's catching or binding in the guides. Stop and investigate the cause first
  • Operate the door gently. Although it's built to last, slamming the curtain down repeatedly will shorten the life of the springs and components

Important

* This warranty is provided by SWS UK as the manufacturer. Garagedoorsonline.co.uk acts as the retail seller and your first point of contact for any claims or queries. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by this warranty.

Measuring Guidance

All Seceuroglide roller doors are made to order to the exact millimetre, so getting your measurements right is important. The ordering sizes work slightly differently to what you might expect, so it's worth reading through this before placing an order.

Understanding the Ordering Sizes

There are two measurements you need to provide when ordering: the overall width over guides and the guide height.

Width (Over Guides)

The width you order is the overall width including the 75mm guide rails on either side. So you take your structural opening width and add 150mm (75mm for each guide). This gives you the total over-guide ordering width.

Height (Guide Height)

The height you order is simply the height of the guide rails themselves, without the roll and endplates. The endplate and barrel assembly sits above the guides and always measures 300mm x 300mm, so you don't need to include that in your ordering height. Your guide height will typically match the height of your structural opening.

Worked Example

If your brickwork opening measures 2200mm wide x 2100mm high, your ordering sizes would be:

  • Width: 2200mm + 150mm (75mm each side for guides) = 2350mm over guides
  • Height: 2100mm = 2100mm guide height

Remember, you'll also need at least 300mm of clear headroom above the opening to accommodate the roll and endplate assembly.

Practical Measuring Tips

  • Measure the structural opening at three points across the width and take the narrowest measurement. Do the same for the height
  • Always measure in millimetres for accuracy
  • Check that the opening is square by measuring the diagonals. If they differ by more than a few millimetres, the opening may need attention before fitting
  • Make sure the internal reveals either side are deep enough to accept the 75mm guide rails sitting behind the brickwork
  • Don't forget to account for the 300mm x 300mm endplate and barrel assembly above the opening when checking available headroom
  • The minimum ordering width for the Seceuroglide Manual is 1000mm over guides

Important

* These doors are made to measure, so please double-check all measurements before ordering. If you're at all unsure, it's always worth getting someone to check them for you. Please see the illustration below to help visualise how the ordering sizes relate to your structural opening.
