Fast Delivery CarTeck Centre Ribbed Made to Measure Door

When a standard size just will not do, our bespoke, purpose made CarTeck Centre Ribbed insulated sectional door provides the ultimate uncompromised solution. Manufactured to your exact millimetre dimensions, accommodating impressive sizes up to 5500mm wide and 2250mm high, this door is built specifically for your unique garage opening. Say goodbye to large timber infills, excessive frame packing, or unsightly UPVC cladding; a made to measure door guarantees maximum drive through width, a superior weather seal, and a flawless architectural finish.

A Contemporary, Balanced Design

The 'Centre Ribbed' profile offers a sleek, perfectly balanced aesthetic that easily complements both modern and traditional properties. Each 40mm thick panel features a single horizontal centre crease, creating an elegant visual profile that evenly breaks up the door height and establishes a contemporary linear rhythm.

Because this model is made to order, you have the freedom to personalise your new garage door to suit your property. Choose from an extensive palette of standard trend colours or bespoke RAL shades, and select either a smooth or woodgrain surface texture to perfectly match the exterior windows and doors of your home.

The Advantages of a Purpose Made Fit

  • Millimetre Perfect Precision: Ordered to your exact structural opening sizes, ensuring the steel framework and door panels fit your garage like a glove.
  • Maximised Drive Through Space: By eliminating the need to pack out the brickwork to suit a standard size, you retain every available millimetre of drive through width and height, which is crucial for parking modern, wider vehicles.
  • Superior Weather Sealing: A door built exactly to your opening ensures the heavy duty industrial weather seals sit perfectly against your floor, lintel, and brickwork, providing unparalleled protection against draughts, leaves, and rain.

Premium Features and Benefits

This bespoke CarTeck sectional door incorporates all the advanced operational features and world class German engineering expected from a premium manufacturer:

  • Exceptional Insulation: The robust 40mm thick double skinned steel panels feature a high density, 'foamed in place' polyurethane core. This provides outstanding thermal and acoustic insulation, transforming your garage into a warm, usable room.
  • Space Saving Vertical Operation: The door sections travel vertically upwards through a tight curve and come to rest parallel to the garage ceiling. This means no outward swing, allowing you to park your car directly up to the door inside and out.
  • Low Headroom as Standard: Even on bespoke sizes, the intelligent CarTeck track system requires incredibly low headroom. You can fit the door and the CarTeck Drive automation system in just 120mm of clear space above the lintel (increasing to 140mm if the width requires double springing).
  • Safe and Smooth Operation: Utilising fully enclosed, factory preloaded tension spring trays rather than exposed torsion springs, the door operates smoothly, quietly, and with exceptional safety.

Ordering Advice: As this is a made to measure product, precise measurements are vital. Please refer to our measuring guides and 3D technical drawings to ensure you are calculating your ordering dimensions correctly based on whether you are fitting behind or inbetween the structural opening.

As this is a purpose made to measure door, the ordering process is slightly different. To get started, please use the drop down menus to select the next nearest size up from your required width and height. When you proceed to place your order, you will be provided with specific text boxes to enter your exact millimetre dimensions. Once you have selected your size brackets, you can configure your custom door using the options available below.

Choose Door Panel Colour Finish:
Select your preferred powder coated colour finish. To ensure our fast delivery turnaround, this special offer is restricted to our most popular stock shades: White, Anthracite Grey, or Jet Black. You can choose either a smooth or woodgrain surface texture, all at no additional cost.
Please note: Where the garage door is exposed to direct and lengthy sunlight, darker colours should ideally be avoided to minimise the risk of panel expansion.

Frame Legs and Head to Match Door Colour:
Choose the colour finish for the outer steel sub frame. Although sectional garage doors are typically installed behind the garage opening (meaning most of the frame is hidden), you will still see the inner edge where it has a small return section. The frame is supplied in white as standard. If any part of the frame will be visible, especially if fitting the door inbetween the structural opening, you can choose to match or contrast the frame colour with your door panels.

Installation Position:
Tell us whether you are fitting the door behind or inbetween the structural opening.
Sectional garage doors were originally designed to install behind the internal brickwork of a garage. However, it is entirely possible to fit the door inbetween the opening if required. This is ideal for garages with no internal returns or internal obstacles.
When ordering for an inbetween fit, the sizes must be carefully calculated. You will need to reduce your ordering width and height to accommodate the frame legs, the head section, and a fitting tolerance. Please see our ‘Measure’ tab for full and detailed instructions.

Inbetween Opening Installation Kit:
If you are fitting the door inbetween the structural opening, you will require this specialist kit. It provides the necessary heavy duty bracketry to securely fix the steel sub frame directly within the brickwork aperture.

Choose Remote Control Operator Model:
We highly recommend the CarTeck Drive 600Nm electric operator for the CarTeck Sectional door range. For only a fraction more than the standard 500Nm motor, the 600Nm model delivers a 33% faster opening speed and significantly more lifting power, making it our operator of choice.
The standard CarTeck Drive 600Nm is an integrated, one piece unit containing the boom, motor, and control panel, designed to mount neatly above the door. Alternatively, the Drive Pro 600Nm features a separate control unit that can be mounted on a wall wherever is most convenient in your garage.
Both automation systems include remote control handsets as standard and feature an integrated LED courtesy light that automatically illuminates when the door is operated. You can also add further access controls from our options list as required.

Emergency External Release (Essential for garages without a second entrance):
If you have no alternative pedestrian access into your garage (such as a side or rear door), we strongly advise adding an emergency manual release mechanism. This external, key operated cylinder allows you to manually disengage the motor drive from the outside, enabling you to lift the door by hand in the event of a power failure.

Wireless 2 Function Wall Switch (Access Pack 2):
This convenient device is a wall mounted, two button switch designed to control one or two garage doors from inside your garage or home. It functions similarly to a standard light switch but requires no complex wiring, operating entirely via a secure, battery powered remote control signal.

Technical Performance and Specifications

The purpose made CarTeck insulated sectional door is precision engineered in Germany to deliver exceptional performance, transforming your garage into a dry, draught free, and secure space. Manufactured to your exact structural opening sizes up to 5500mm wide and 2250mm high, this bespoke model guarantees a millimetre perfect fit without the need for unsightly timber packers. The door leaves are constructed using a highly stable 40mm thick core made of special polyurethane foam, sandwiched between corrosion resistant galvanised steel. This robust multi layer construction offers extraordinary wear resistance and security for your home.

Tested Performance Ratings (European Standards):

  • Thermal Insulation: The 40mm thick steel panels have a standalone U value of 0.56 W/m²K. When calculated as a complete custom built structural door unit (including all panel joints and weather strips), it achieves an outstanding U value of 1.38 W/m²K.
  • Weather Protection: Industrial grade bottom, side, top, and inter panel weather seals work perfectly in tandem with your exact opening dimensions to keep the elements at bay.
  • Windload Resistance: Class 2 (EN 12424)
  • Watertightness: Class 2 (EN 12425)
  • Air Permeability: Class 2 (EN 12426)

Frame Details and Installation Position

The outer frame legs and head fascia are supplied in a smooth white finish as standard to frame the custom door neatly.

Fitting Behind the Opening: This is the standard and most aesthetically pleasing installation method. The steel frame sits entirely behind the brickwork reveal, completely concealing the frame edges and resulting in no visible frame holes. Your door is manufactured to perfectly overlap your opening.

Fitting Inbetween the Opening: If you are installing the bespoke door directly within the brickwork reveal, the Inbetween Opening Installation Kit is strictly required to adapt the standard frame.

Sizing adjustments for inbetween fitting: Even on a made to measure door, the physical steel frame has a set width and depth. You must deduct 180mm from your total structural opening width to determine your ordering width. For the height, deduct 120mm for manual doors and 140mm for electric operation to determine your ordering height (if the additional low headroom fitting bracket is purchased, only deduct 120mm for electric doors).

Please note: The legs of the frame, when fitted inbetween the reveal, will display a series of factory drilled holes. You will require a matching cloaking strip or 3D profile cover (not provided) to conceal these holes for a neat finish.

Hardware and Optional Extras

  • Handle: To maintain a sleek and secure exterior profile, no external handle is fitted as standard on electric doors. If you intend to use the custom door manually, a handle set will be required.
  • External Emergency Release: Fitted as standard in the top left hand corner of all doors. This allows you to manually detach the motor from the outside in the event of a power cut, which is essential if the garage has no other entry point.

Remote Control Electric Operation

We highly recommend pairing your custom door with the advanced CarTeck Drive automation system. The CarTeck Drive 600Nm motor is powerful enough to effortlessly and safely lift bespoke doors up to 5500mm wide. Its fixed chain drive mechanism is significantly quieter and renowned for long term reliability compared to traditional revolving chain or belt designs. All CarTeck Drive 600Nm motors come complete with two Pearl remote control handsets as standard, featuring secure four function buttons.

The difference between the CarTeck Drive and the Drive Pro:

  • CarTeck Drive: The standard motor features an integrated drive and control unit that fits discreetly on the ceiling boom directly above the door.
  • CarTeck Drive Pro: The Pro version features a separate wall mounted control unit. This can be installed next to an existing power outlet or at a more convenient height in your garage (such as next to a side access door), allowing you to easily open or close your large custom door using the integrated push buttons on the front of the control box.

Safer, Simpler Installation with Preloaded Tension Springs

Unlike many other sectional garage doors that rely on complex and potentially dangerous high-tension torsion springs mounted directly above the door, the CarTeck system utilises a far safer, multi-spring tension system.

To make installation as straightforward and safe as possible, all single-layer spring trays for standard CarTeck doors are now supplied fully pre-assembled straight from the factory. The high-level tension springs come preloaded within their fully enclosed steel trays, complete with the lifting cables already perfectly routed and retained by anti-twist brackets. This incredibly smart design not only prevents dirt from entering the mechanism, boosting durability, but it also dramatically speeds up the installation process on-site. The multiple spring system evenly balances the weight of the door panels, whilst the dual retaining cables reliably support the door in all situations, meaning it remains safe and operational even in an emergency. Because the springs are safely housed within these steel channels, tensioning the door is significantly safer and easier than wrestling with an exposed torsion spring bar.

The warranty applies to doors installed and used in normal residential conditions, with normal use defined as up to five opening and closing cycles per day. Warranty periods may be reduced on oversized or super-size door models, particularly for springs and motorised operating equipment.

What the Warranty Provides

In the event of a valid warranty claim, the manufacturer may choose to repair the affected component, replace it with an equivalent defect-free part, or provide compensation reflecting the reduced value caused by the fault. Any warranty claim must be supported by proof of purchase and the relevant warranty documentation.

Warranty Conditions

  • The door must be correctly installed, commissioned and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • A dated sales receipt and completed warranty paperwork may be required when making a claim.

  • Remote control handsets, batteries and light bulbs are excluded.
  • Damage caused during transport, assembly or commissioning is excluded.
  • Surface fading, weathering and natural cosmetic ageing are not covered.
  • Expansion or distortion caused by excessive heat or strong direct sunlight on dark finishes is excluded.
  • Damage caused by fire, water ingress, salt air, chemicals, acids or other aggressive environmental conditions is excluded.

Important Note

This warranty applies in addition to your statutory rights. For complete peace of mind, installation should always be carried out correctly and the door should be used and maintained in line with the manufacturer’s guidance.

If fitting between the opening, please deduct 180mm from the opening width to determine the ordering width.
Deduct 120mm for manual doors and 140mm for electric operation (unless the additional fitting bracket is purchased then 120mm applies) from the opening height to determine the ordering height.

How to Measure for Your Made to Measure Door

Because this CarTeck sectional door is purpose built to your exact millimetre dimensions, accurate measuring is vital. You are ordering the exact internal structural opening sizes. This completely removes the need for timber infills or UPVC cladding to pack out a standard size door.

For a quick visual reference, please look at the 3D technical drawings located in the image gallery at the top of this page. These clearly show how the frame fits in relation to your garage opening.

Measuring for a 'Behind the Opening' Fit (Standard)

This is the ideal and most common way to install a sectional door. The door and its steel framework sit entirely on the inner face of the garage wall, maximising your drive through width.

  • Width: Measure the brick to brick width of your garage opening in several places. Your ordering width is simply the smallest of these measurements.
  • Height: Measure from the finished floor level up to the underside of the lintel. Your ordering height is this exact measurement.
  • Check your clearances: Because the frame sits behind the brickwork, you must ensure you have sufficient internal space. You will need a minimum of 85mm to 90mm of clear side room on both the left and right sides of the opening to accommodate the frame legs.
  • Check your headroom: You must also have a minimum of 120mm of clear headroom between the lintel and the ceiling to accommodate the top track and motor. This increases to 140mm for very large doors up to 5500mm wide that require double springing.

Measuring for an 'Inbetween the Opening' Fit

If you do not have internal brickwork returns, the door must be installed directly between the brick pillars using the optional 'Inbetween Opening Installation Kit'.

  • Width: Measure your brick to brick opening. To find your ordering width, you must deduct 180mm from this opening size. This allows for the two frame legs and a comfortable fitting tolerance.
  • Height: Measure your floor to lintel height. To find your ordering height, you must deduct 120mm (if using the additional low headroom bracket) or deduct 140mm (for standard electric operation without the bracket).

Important Depth Check: Sectional doors travel horizontally into the garage space. It is essential to check that your garage is deep enough to accommodate the full length of the tracks and the motor boom. Ensure you have clear, unobstructed space running back into the garage equivalent to the height of the door plus approximately 350mm to 600mm.

If you have any doubts whatsoever about measuring your garage opening for a custom size door, please contact our team for verification before placing your order.
