To coordinate with your windows, entrance door and other external elements, the Luxe range offers up to 39 colours across the Trend and Trend+ palettes. Options include whites, creams, multiple shades of grey, strong contemporary colours and deeper tones for traditional properties. Frames are supplied in a smooth finish and are normally colour matched to your chosen panel colour for a neat, integrated appearance.

Security & Hardware Options

Every Luxe Traditional Centre Ribbed doorset is supplied with upgraded hardware as standard, including a high security Euro profile cylinder, stainless steel lever handles, concealed hinges and recessed flush bolts on the inactive leaf. On taller doors (over 2020mm high), 3-point locking can be specified to further enhance security. You can also choose between thumb turn internal operation or key-operated cylinders both sides to suit your security preferences and how you use the garage.

Opening Direction & Handing

You can select whether the right-hand or left-hand leaf opens first (viewed from outside), allowing you to tailor the door to your driveway layout and the way you naturally approach the garage. Outward opening is the most popular configuration, helping to maximise usable floor space inside the garage, but inward opening options may be available where space on the driveway is restricted (check specific model options and local clearances).

Door Construction & Internal Finish

The CarTeck 40mm Luxe Traditional Centre Ribbed Vertical side hinged doors are built from 40mm thick interlocking insulated steel panels, using a double skinned construction with a rigid foam core. Inside, all doors are finished in Grey White (RAL 9002). The internal face is smooth, easy to wipe clean and completely free from unsightly bracing bars or exposed lock gear, giving a smart, “finished room” feel when the doors are closed.

Door texture finishes: Woodgrain, Smooth, Stucco or Micro Profile (availability depends on colour and design).

Traditional Glazing & Window Details

Traditional Luxe doors are supplied with attractive leaded-effect fully glazed top sections as standard, helping to recreate the look of classic timber doors. If you prefer a simpler appearance, plain windows are available as a no-cost option. All window units are scratch resistant polymer double glazed windows, and the window surrounds are finished in a matching smooth finish to the frame for a cohesive look.

Raised Threshold & Weather Protection

A raised aluminium threshold is supplied as standard to improve weather protection along the bottom edge of the doors. If you prefer a lower step, a standard threshold option is available at a cost reduction. In addition, a 3-part threshold is now standard on all CarTeck side hinged garage doors. This incorporates a new bulb seal to enhance weather sealing at floor level.

Frame legs and head are smooth and white as standard, but on Luxe doors the fully finished aluminium fixing sub frame is typically colour matched to the chosen panel colour for a seamless, integrated appearance.

Aluminium Fixing Sub Frame

All CarTeck side hinged doors are factory fitted with a fully finished aluminium fixing sub frame to make installation easy and precise. The close tolerances between the frame and door leaves help ensure a consistent seal where the doors close and hinge. Every doorset is made to order to maximise the width and height of your garage opening, and the frame is finished in the same colour as the selected door panel colour. Doors can be supplied with either a right-hand or left-hand leading leaf (viewed from outside looking in).

Locking, Hardware & Security

3-Point Locking
High security 3-point locking is available but is only suitable for doors over 2020mm high. This adds extra locking points along the active leaf for enhanced security.

Door Lock Cylinder Security Upgrade
To make it easier and cheaper to obtain replacement keys, CarTeck has upgraded the locking system so keys can be cut by local key cutters rather than ordered via Teckentrup. Additional benefits include:

• BS EN1303 Cylinder Security Grade 2.
• Anti-drill and anti-pick design.
• 3 keys supplied as standard.
• Break-off system – a sacrificial front section is designed to break away under attack, while leaving enough of the cylinder intact so the lock can still be operated with a key.

Handles & General Hardware
High grade stainless steel handles and lock covers are both tough and attractive. Standard hardware includes:

• DIN standard CE marked European sash lock.
• Pair of stainless steel round bar lever handles on 50mm diameter roses.
• Euro profile cylinder with internal thumb turn and stainless steel escutcheons as standard (double cylinder, key both sides, available as an option).
• Top and bottom recessed lever action flush bolts on the inactive leaf for secure locking.
• A stay fitted to each leaf to hold the doors open in use.

Double Seals & Mitred Corners
To improve draught reduction and weather protection, there is both a circumferential seal around each door leaf and a three sided seal on the frame. Frame profiles are mitre jointed at the corners for a neat, precise finish.

Concealed Hinges

All CarTeck side hinged doors, including the Luxe Traditional Centre Ribbed Vertical, are now manufactured with concealed hinges as part of continuous product development. These provide several advantages:

• Cleaner trimming and finishing around the frame, with no surface mounted hinge knuckles at the frame edge.
• Only two hinges required per leaf, making adjustments faster and easier.
• A sleeker, more contemporary appearance.
• No additional cost compared with previous hinge arrangements.
• Improved security by removing a visible point of attack and making it harder to lever the door open from the hinge side.

Installation Guidance – Made to Measure as Standard

Every CarTeck 40mm Luxe Traditional side hinged garage door is made to measure as standard. This means the doorset is manufactured to your exact brickwork opening sizes (allowing for the correct fitting tolerances), so you are not trying to “make do” with a standard size. You benefit from maximum clear opening width and height, tighter seals and a far neater finished appearance.

1. Measuring Before You Order

Before ordering, carefully measure the structural brickwork opening width and height in at least three places (top, middle, bottom for width; left, centre, right for height). Use the smallest measurements and check that the reveals and lintel are reasonably plumb and level. These clear opening sizes are what you provide for your made to measure doorset – the factory will calculate the finished frame sizes and tolerances from these figures.

2. Delivered as a Complete Doorset

CarTeck Luxe side hinged doors are supplied as a fully assembled doorset. The aluminium fixing frame, door leaves, hinges, locks, seals and glazing are all factory fitted and pre-aligned. This eliminates the need to hang door leaves separately on site. Once unpacked, the frame and doors are lifted into the opening as one unit, making installation faster, cleaner and more predictable.

3. Fitting the Aluminium Sub Frame

With the old garage door and frame removed and the opening cleaned back to sound masonry, the new aluminium frame is positioned into the reveal. Use packers and a spirit level to ensure the frame is perfectly plumb, level and square, then drill and fix through the pre-designated fixing points into the brickwork. Check the operation of both leaves as you go and make minor hinge or latch adjustments if required.

4. Threshold & Final Sealing

The supplied 3-part threshold is then positioned and fixed in line with the frame legs, creating a continuous base for the bulb seal and improving weather protection at floor level. Because it is in three pieces, you can extend it slightly beyond the frame legs for a neat transition to adjacent paving or doorways. Finally, any small gaps between frame and brickwork are neatly sealed with a suitable external grade sealant or trim.

5. Post-Installation Checks

Once installed, check that:

• Both leaves open and close freely without fouling the floor or reveals.
• The locks engage smoothly and the compression seals make consistent contact all round.
• The stays hold the doors open securely at the desired angle.

Because these doors are factory assembled and made to measure, a competent installer or experienced DIYer can achieve an excellent, professional result with far less time and adjustment than a traditional, site-built timber door and frame.

10-Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee

• •  On panels against rust penetration from the inside to the outside.
• •  Against door panel separation of the steel skins from the inner foam core.
• •  On material and manufacturing flaws of all non-moving parts of the frame that are verifiably unusable.
• •  On the floor seal, intermediate seals and frame weather seals against rotting.

5-Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee

• •  On factory paint finishes against peeling and blistering (excluding normal colour fade and excluding coastal locations). Note: A specific 3-year guarantee applies to coastal installations, providing the door was ordered with the official coastal paint upgrade.

Please note: The guarantee does not apply to doors that are subjected to extreme conditions, such as corrosive influences resulting from use in a coastal climate with high salt content, unless the relevant coastal paint upgrades were specified at the point of order. Regular cleaning of the door finish is required to maintain the warranty.

Ordering: The ordering dimensions refer to the OVERALL width and height of the door and sub fixing frame combined and the door is delivered with the frame already factory fitted.
