SeceuroGlide LT Insulated Electric Roller Garage Door (Full Hood)
The SeceuroGlide LT (Full Hood) is an electric, insulated aluminium roller garage door engineered to deliver genuine SWS UK manufacturing quality, legal safety compliance, and a completely enclosed coil mechanism at an accessible price point. It serves as a lighter specification alternative to the flagship SeceuroGlide Original, omitting secondary sound-dampening webbing and specialist security attachments while retaining the same robust, double-skinned insulated aluminium curtain.
The UK market has many low cost roller door manufacturers offering cheap doors that cut corners on basic safety, often relying on illegal single infra-red beams across the opening. The SeceuroGlide LT complies fully with UK safety regulations, using an active optical bottom edge safety sensor that stops and reverses immediately if an obstruction is met.
Supplied as standard with a Full Aluminium Hood Enclosure, this model completely conceals the roll mechanism, axle barrel, and motor drive. Every door is made to measure down to the exact millimetre to suit your garage opening at no extra cost, rolling vertically overhead to preserve your full drive-through clearance width and driveway parking space.
Benefits of the Full Hood Enclosure
Having a full box cover included as standard brings several practical, mechanical, and aesthetic advantages to your garage:
- Complete Internal Protection: Completely encloses the rotating axle, motor, and coiled aluminium curtain, preventing accidental finger entrapment and keeping stored items, ladders, or dust away from moving parts.
- Neat, Finished Appearance: Neatly conceals the roll mechanism and wiring from view inside the garage, giving a tidy, professional finish to the installation.
- Ideal for Between Reveal Fixing: If your door is installed between the structural opening piers rather than behind, the full hood boxes in the curtain roll completely from both the inside and outside, eliminating the need for separate on-site timber or PVC fascia cladding.
- Enhanced Draught & Weather Proofing: Enclosing the top coil helps reduce top edge draughts and weather ingress, working alongside the side guide brush strips and bottom rubber seal to keep your garage cleaner and warmer.
Certified Safety and Remote Automation as Standard
Unlike uncertified budget roller doors, the SeceuroGlide LT prioritises legal domestic safety, convenience, and reliable daily operation:
- Fully Compliant Optical Safety Edge: Fitted inside the shaped bottom rubber seal, optical light sensors instantly detect any contact with a car bumper, bicycle, or obstruction, immediately stopping and reversing the curtain.
- Two Remote Transmitters Included: Supplied with 2 x rolling-code handheld transmitters, using encrypted transmission frequencies to prevent code grabbing by opportunist thieves.
- Internal Emergency Manual Release: Direct winding eyelet and manual crank handle come standard on the motor side, ensuring you will never be locked in your garage during a power failure.
- Anti-Drop Protection: Doors weighing over 26.5kg are fitted with an automatic wireless safety brake to prevent the curtain from dropping in the event of mechanical motor failure. Lighter doors under 26.5kg are supplied with an adjustable LT dummy end axle shaft.
SeceuroSense Plus Wall-Mounted Control Unit
The standard automation package is powered by the intelligent SeceuroSense Plus receiver board, designed for straightforward installation and daily convenience:
- Built-In LED Courtesy Light: Automatically illuminates your garage interior when the door opens, staying on for several minutes before turning off automatically.
- Front Cover Push Controls: Integrated open and close push buttons allow simple internal operation without hunting for a handheld keyfob.
- External Lighting Feed: Includes an integral relay connection supporting up to 300W of external garage or driveway lighting.
- Visual Fault Diagnosis: Clear external LED indicator lights provide instant operational feedback and simple fault diagnosis without removing the cover.
- Simplified Limit Setting: Limit positions can be set directly from the board using an integrated test lead for fast, accurate commissioning.
- No Floor Magnets Required: Built-in ground exclusion circuitry ensures clean floor contact without needing messy floor-mounted magnets.
- Optional Plug-In Alarm: Compatible with an optional acoustic alarm card housed neatly within the control enclosure to deter forced entry attempts.
Curtain Construction and Low-Maintenance Finishes
The curtain is fabricated from 77mm individual twin-walled aluminium slats filled with CFC-free insulating polyurethane foam, providing rigidity, thermal performance, and draught reduction:
- 21 Standard Factory Colours: Choose from 18 hard-wearing powder-coated solid colours (including Anthracite Grey, Black, White, Chartwell Green, and Slate Grey) or 3 painted woodgrain-effect finishes (Golden Oak, Irish Oak, and Rosewood) at no extra charge.
- Over 30 Renolit Grained Foil Laminates: Premium textured architectural woodgrain laminates available at an additional charge to match external uPVC windows and doors.
- Dense Brush Weatherstripping: Side guide channels are fitted with dense nylon brush pile strips that cushion curtain movement and seal against biting wind and driving rain.
Drive Upgrades & Smart Home Connectivity
For smart home automation and enhanced security feedback, the SeceuroGlide LT can be upgraded to the Somfy Rollixo Premium IO platform:
- Integrated 100dB Tamper Alarm: Housed directly inside the Rollixo panel, sounding immediately if the curtain is forced upward from outside.
- Two-Way Real-Time Feedback: Confirms whether your garage door is fully closed, open, or stopped directly on your smartphone screen or multi-channel remote handset.
- Somfy Smart App & TaHoma Hub Integration: Seamlessly pairs with Somfy TaHoma switch hubs for smartphone access, scheduled opening routines, and voice assistant control via Alexa or Google Assistant.
- Keygo Transmitters: Supplied with 2 x Somfy Keygo 4-channel IO keyfob transmitters as standard.
Practical Installation and Sizing Advice
- Inside Face Fit vs Reveal Fit: Internal face fixing behind the piers is recommended to maximise drive-through width and clearance height. For reveal-fixed installations, the full hood encloses the curtain roll completely, protecting the mechanism and creating a neat appearance from both sides.
- External Manual Release Requirement: If your garage has no secondary pedestrian side door or connecting house door, an optional external low-level keyed manual release must be ordered to allow entry during a power failure.
- LT Dummy End Adjustment: Because the LT does not use an internal counterbalance spring, SWS fits an LT dummy end on the non-motor side of the barrel. This features an adjustable internal shaft to set the axle to the exact bracket width. The shaft is intentionally stiff to pull on initial adjustment; once shifted, it moves freely into position before slotting into the endplate bracket.
* Always allow proper fitting tolerance when measuring your garage opening. A level floor across the opening gives the best bottom weather seal and the most reliable safety edge operation.
How to Order Your SeceuroGlide LT (Full Hood) – Options Guide
Every SeceuroGlide LT roller door is custom-manufactured down to the exact millimetre to suit your garage opening, supplied with a fully enclosed aluminium hood box as standard. When configuring your door online, work through the ordering steps below to select your sizes, colours, handing, fitting position, and automation upgrades.
1. Sizing: Selecting Your 'Up to' Pricing Bracket and Exact Dimensions
Our ordering menus use 'Up to' size brackets for online pricing, based on the Overall Door Width (including side guides) and the Guide Height (height from the floor to the underside of the full hood box, excluding the 300mm box itself above):
- Select Your 'Up to' Size: Choose the nearest 'up to' width and height bands from the drop-down menus that cover your overall dimensions. For example, if your required overall width is 2450mm and guide height is 2150mm, select 'Up to 2600mm' for width and 'Up to 2200mm' for height.
- Provide Your Exact Sizes: Enter your exact required overall width and guide height into the dimension boxes when proceeding to checkout. SWS will fabricate your door to these precise measurements at no extra cost.
2. Door Curtain Colour
Choose your curtain finish from our comprehensive palette of 21 standard factory colours (18 solid powder-coated shades including Anthracite Grey, Black, White, Chartwell Green, and Slate Grey, plus 3 painted woodgrain-effect finishes: Golden Oak, Irish Oak, and Rosewood).
* If you require another bespoke colour or one of over 30 textured Renolit grained foil laminates, please call or email our team for a price.
3. Side Guide Channel Colour
The extruded aluminium guide rails are supplied in either White or Dark Brown as standard to complement your brickwork or curtain selection. Alternatively, you can select the option to have the side guides factory-finished to match your chosen door curtain colour.
4. Full Hood Cover Colour
Because this model comes complete with an aluminium top box enclosure to fully conceal the mechanism and protect the coiled slats, you can choose how it is finished:
- Standard Hood Finishes: Supplied in satin White or Dark Brown as standard.
- Colour-Matched Hood (21 Standard Colours): Have your full hood box factory powder-coated in any of the 21 standard colours to match your curtain slats exactly for a uniform appearance.
5. Electric Motor and Manual Override Handing
Choose which side you require the electric tubular barrel motor to be positioned on, selected as either Left-Hand Drive or Right-Hand Drive (viewed from inside the garage looking out).
The internal emergency manual release winding eyelet and crank handle are always situated on the same side as the motor unit, so ensure this side provides practical, unobstructed access inside your garage.
6. Door Installation Position & Hood Box Supports
Specify how the door will be fixed relative to your garage opening piers and lintel. On wider openings, intermediary hood support brackets are included to prevent lid deflection and ensure long-term stability of the enclosure:
- Inside Face Fit: Fitted to the internal brickwork face behind the opening. Keeps the guides and top box concealed behind the reveals to maximise clear drive-through width and height.
- Inbetween the Opening (Reveal Fit): Fitted between the structural opening piers and directly under the lintel. The full hood neatly encloses the roll from both inside and outside.
- Inside Face Fit with Centre Hood Support: For wider openings installed behind the piers, an intermediate upper support bracket is supplied to anchor the full hood box firmly to the lintel, eliminating cover flex.
- Inbetween Opening with Centre Hood Support: For wider reveal-fixed installations, an overhead intermediate bracket secures the box directly to the underside of the lintel for complete cover rigidity.
* As a rule of thumb, wider doors spanning over 3000mm benefit from intermediate hood supports to brace the box profile across the span.
7. Optional External Low-Level Manual Override System
Every door comes with an internal manual crank handle for power failures. However, if your garage has no separate pedestrian access door or connecting integral house door, you must order an external manual release system:
- This heavy-duty, lockable low-level keyed disconnect allows you to disengage the motor and wind the door open from the outside using a crank handle if the power fails.
- The external release is installed on the same side as your motor selection.
- Supplied as standard to pass through brickwork walls up to 500mm thick (the 7mm hex drive shaft can be extended on site if passing through deeper reveals).
8. Optional Alarm Kit for the SeceuroSense Plus Control Panel
For standard SeceuroSense Plus systems, you can add an optional plug-in acoustic alarm card. Housed directly inside the internal wall control panel, this sensor triggers an ear-piercing siren if forced lifting or tampering is detected at the bottom of the door when closed.
9. Upgrade to Somfy Electric Motor Drive & Somfy Rollixo Premium IO Control Panel
Upgrade your complete drive package to Somfy’s flagship IO-homecontrol platform:
- Built-In 100dB Tamper Alarm: Housed directly inside the Rollixo panel, sounding immediately if the curtain is forced upward.
- Real-Time Door Status Feedback: Two-way communication confirms whether the garage door is fully open, closed, or partially positioned directly on your smartphone app or multi-channel remote.
- Smart Home Ready: Seamlessly pairs with the Somfy TaHoma switch hub and Somfy smart apps for automated routines, voice assistant control, and remote access from anywhere.
- Transmitters Included: Supplied with 2 x Somfy Keygo 4-channel IO keyfob transmitters as standard.

Ordering and Sizing Guidelines
Pricing for the SeceuroGlide LT is based on overall door width including side guides and guide height (the height to the underside of the endplates/hood box, excluding the box itself above):
- Example Calculation: For a clear daylight opening 2300mm wide x 2200mm high installed on the inside face of the brickwork piers, you need 75mm guides on each side (2300mm + 150mm = 2450mm over-guide width) and a 2200mm guide height. For pricing, select the Up to 2600mm width bracket and the Up to 2200mm height bracket.
- Headroom Requirement: Allow 300mm of clear headroom above the guide channels to accommodate the 300mm x 300mm full hood enclosure.
- Drive Handing: Motor drive side (left or right, viewed from inside looking out) must be specified when ordering. The manual override eyelet and crank handle exit on the same side as the motor.
- Between-Fix Advantages: Because this door includes a full hood box as standard, it is completely self-contained and suitable for fitting between the opening without needing on-site timber or PVC fascias to cover the back of the roll.

Installation Guidance
The Seceuroglide LT fast delivery electric roller garage door is a straightforward installation for anyone with strong DIY skills, but it's important to understand the process before you begin. As this specific model is supplied without a hood box, it is primarily designed for an internal face-fix installation.
Before You Start
- Check Your Opening: Ensure the structural opening is square and plumb. Measure the diagonals to check for any significant differences. A level floor is also essential, as the bottom slat's rubber weather seal needs to sit flush to prevent draughts and water ingress
- Headroom: You must have a minimum of 300mm of clear headroom above the structural opening to accommodate the endplates and the rolled-up curtain. Without a hood, the roll will be visible from inside the garage
- Sideroom: Check that you have enough space on the internal walls (the reveals) either side of the opening to fix the guide rails. You'll need 75mm per side for doors up to 3000mm wide, and 90mm per side for larger doors
- Power Supply: You will need a suitable 13-amp fused spur located near the motor side of the door to power the SeceuroSense Plus control unit
Fitting the Guide Rails
The guide rails are fixed to the inside face of the garage wall. It is absolutely critical that these are installed perfectly vertical and parallel to each other. Use a long spirit level to ensure accuracy. If the guides are out of plumb, the door curtain will bind and not run smoothly, which can damage the motor over time. Fix the guides securely using appropriate fixings for your wall type (brick, block, or timber).
Installing the Axle and Motor
The axle assembly, which houses the SeceuroDrive tubular motor, sits on the endplates above the guide rails. This is a heavy component and will require two people to lift it safely into position. Ensure the axle is perfectly level before securing it to the endplates. The motor cable will need to be routed neatly to the SeceuroSense Plus control unit.
Hanging the Curtain
The aluminium curtain slats are supplied rolled up. Carefully lower the curtain into the guide rails, ensuring the nylon endlocks slide smoothly into the channels. Once the curtain is in the guides, attach it to the axle using the provided locking straps. These straps are designed to secure the door firmly when closed, preventing it from being lifted.
Setting the Limits and Control Unit
The SeceuroSense Plus control unit must be mounted securely to the wall. The motor limits (the points where the door stops when fully open and fully closed) need to be set according to the manufacturer's instructions. The SeceuroSense Plus board features a built-in test lead specifically for this purpose, making the initial setup much easier. Once the limits are set, the safety bottom edge must be connected and tested to ensure the door reverses when it meets an obstruction.
Manual Override Setup
Every Seceuroglide LT comes with an internal manual override crank. This needs to be hooked up to the motor head so you can operate the door manually in the event of a power cut. If you have specified an external low-level manual override (because you have no other access to the garage), this will involve drilling a hole through the garage wall to connect the external lockable plate to the internal override mechanism.
Important Reminders
- Always allow a small amount of fitting tolerance when measuring your opening
- Do not operate the door electrically until the motor limits have been properly set and the safety edge is functioning correctly
- If you have opted for an 'in-between the opening' installation rather than the standard internal face-fix, you will likely need to add some cladding or a fascia board to conceal the exposed back of the door roll from the outside
- If you are unsure about the electrical connections or the physical installation, we strongly recommend hiring a professional garage door installer
Details on the SeceuroDrive Motor Limit Setting Instructions can be watched here.
Please Note: Important Information when installing the Seceuroglide LT Roller Doors.
In the absence of the spring we apply an LT dummy end. This has an adjustable shaft in it. This is designed to be moved so the axle becomes the right size. This is stiff to pull but once its moved it moves freely. This then slots in to the bracket as normal.
For doors which have been supplied with a dummy end, the bearing will no longer be welded to the end. Instead, the bearing will now be located within the accessory box and will need to be installed manually.
To install the bearing, simply slide the bearing ontl the end of the dummy end shaft.
Warranty Information
The Seceuroglide LT electric roller garage door is backed by a comprehensive manufacturer's warranty from SWS UK, providing you with long-term peace of mind. As the retailer, Garagedoorsonline.co.uk is your first point of contact for any warranty queries or claims, and we will liaise directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
What's Covered
The Seceuroglide LT comes with specific warranty periods depending on the component, subject to correct installation, normal operation, and regular maintenance.
5-Year Comprehensive Warranty
The core components of the door are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase. This includes:
- The Aluminium Curtain: The insulated slats and powder-coated solid colours are warranted against excessive fading, peeling, and manufacturing defects under normal use
- The Drive System: The standard SeceuroDrive tubular motor, or the optional Somfy motor upgrade, is covered against mechanical failure
- The Control System: The SeceuroSense Plus receiver unit, the remote control key fobs, and the safety bottom edge sensor are covered against electrical and component failure
- Hardware: The guide rails, endplates, axle assembly, and locking straps are covered against structural failure
10-Year Finish Guarantee (Laminate Foil Woodgrain Only)
If you choose one of the textured laminate foil woodgrain finishes, the surface finish of the curtain slats benefits from an extended 10-year guarantee against peeling and significant discolouration. Please note this extended finish warranty applies exclusively to the foiled woodgrain options, not the standard powder-coated or painted finishes.
What's Not Covered
To ensure your warranty remains valid, it's important to understand the exclusions. The warranty does not cover:
- Incorrect Installation: Damage or failure caused by the door not being installed in accordance with the manufacturer's fitting instructions. This includes issues arising from fitting the door into an opening that isn't square or plumb, or failing to set the motor limits correctly
- Wear and Tear: General wear and tear from everyday use, including minor cosmetic marking on the internal face of the slats over time. This marking is a known characteristic of roller doors and occurs as the curtain rolls up and down
- Accidental Damage: Scratches, dents, or structural damage caused after delivery, including impact from vehicles or forced entry attempts
- Lack of Maintenance: Failure of components due to a lack of basic maintenance, such as neglecting to clean the guide rails or ignoring obvious faults
- Shade Variations: Minor shade differences between the powder-coated curtain slats, bottom rail, and guide rails are normal and not considered a manufacturing defect
- Water Ingress: While the door provides excellent weather protection, it is not guaranteed to be 100% watertight in extreme weather conditions or driving rain, particularly if the floor is not perfectly level
Making a Warranty Claim
If you experience an issue that you believe is covered under warranty, please contact us at garagedoorsonline.co.uk as soon as possible. To process your claim efficiently, we will need:
- Your original order number and date of purchase
- A clear description of the fault
- Photographs or a short video demonstrating the issue, if applicable
- Details of who installed the door (e.g., DIY or professional installer)
In many cases, replacement parts (such as a new remote fob or a control board component) can be sent directly to you to resolve the issue quickly without needing to return the entire door.
Maintaining Your Warranty
To keep your door running smoothly and your warranty valid, we recommend a simple maintenance routine:
- Keep the guide rails clean and free from dirt, leaves, and debris to prevent the curtain from jamming
- Wash the curtain periodically with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth to protect the paint finish
- Regularly check that the safety bottom edge is functioning correctly by placing an object in the door's path while it is closing
- If the door starts making unusual noises or struggling to open/close, stop using it and investigate the cause to prevent damage to the motor
* Please note that this warranty is provided by SWS UK as the manufacturer. Garagedoorsonline.co.uk acts as the retail seller and your first point of contact. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by this warranty.
Measuring Guidance
Because every Seceuroglide LT roller garage door is manufactured to your exact millimetre measurements, getting the sizing right before you order is the most important step. As this fast-delivery model is supplied without a hood box, it is primarily designed to be fitted internally, behind the structural opening (a face-fix installation).
Step 1: Check Your Opening
Before taking any measurements for the door itself, check the condition of your garage opening. It needs to be structurally sound and capable of supporting the weight of the guide rails and the door roll. Measure the diagonals of the opening to ensure it is square. If it's significantly out of square, the guide rails will not sit flush, and the door will not operate correctly.
Step 2: Measure the Structural Opening
Take three measurements for both the width and the height of your brickwork opening (top, middle, and bottom for the width; left, centre, and right for the height). Use the narrowest width and the shortest height as your baseline measurements.
- Opening Width: This is the distance between the two side walls (the reveals) of your garage opening
- Opening Height: This is the distance from the floor to the underside of the lintel (the top of the opening)
A level floor is essential for a roller door. If your floor slopes across the width, you will need to request a sloping bottom slat (available as an optional extra) to ensure the door seals properly when closed.
Step 3: Check Your Clearances
For an internal face-fix installation, you need to ensure you have enough room inside the garage to accommodate the door mechanism.
- Sideroom: You need enough flat, vertical space on the inside walls (the returns) on either side of the opening to fix the guide rails. For doors up to 3000mm wide, you need a minimum of 75mm on each side. For doors over 3000mm wide, you need a minimum of 90mm on each side
- Headroom: You need a minimum of 300mm of clear headroom above the structural opening (from the underside of the lintel up to the ceiling or first obstruction). This space is required for the endplates and the rolled-up door curtain
Step 4: Calculate Your Ordering Sizes
When placing your order on our website, you need to provide two specific measurements: the Over Guide Width and the Guide Height.
1. Over Guide Width (The Ordering Width)
This is the total width of the door, including the guide rails on both sides. To calculate this, take your structural opening width (the narrowest measurement from Step 2) and add the width of the guide rails.
- If your door will be up to 3000mm wide: Add 150mm (75mm for each guide rail) to your opening width
- If your door will be over 3000mm wide: Add 180mm (90mm for each guide rail) to your opening width
Example: If your brickwork opening is 2200mm wide, your Over Guide Width for ordering is 2350mm (2200 + 75 + 75).
2. Guide Height (The Ordering Height)
This is the height of the guide rails themselves, which typically matches your structural opening height (the shortest measurement from Step 2). You do not need to add the 300mm headroom requirement into this measurement; the factory will automatically add the endplates and door roll above the guide height you specify.
Example: If your brickwork opening is 2100mm high, your Guide Height for ordering is 2100mm.
Important Notes for Ordering
* Always measure in millimetres for accuracy. Never round up or down unless you are intentionally allowing for fitting tolerance.
* If you are planning an 'in-between the opening' installation rather than the standard internal face-fix, the measuring process is different. In this case, your Over Guide Width will be exactly the same as your structural opening width (minus a few millimetres for fitting tolerance), and your Guide Height will be your structural opening height minus the 300mm required for the door roll. Please note that this installation method will significantly reduce your drive-through width and height.
