Seceuroglide LT Fast Delivery Electric Roller Garage Door

The Seceuroglide LT is a lighter specification version of the standard Seceuroglide Original and still a leading electric insulated roller door in its class. It's designed to offer a fully compliant electric insulated roller garage door at a most competitive price, particularly in situations where higher security is not a particular issue. This specific version is offered on a fast-track 10-working-day delivery schedule (subject to location), making it ideal if you need a reliable, made to measure replacement door without a long wait. It's supplied without a hood or fascia, so the rolled up curtain remains visible above the opening.

Suitability

The UK market has many roller door manufacturers selling low specification roller doors, and quite a few of those aren't even compliant with current regulations. If price is your main consideration then this roller door will fit the bill, giving you genuine Seceuroglide build quality and full regulatory compliance at a competitive price point. Because it rolls tightly above the opening, you can park right up to the door both inside and out, maximising your driveway space. It's a great choice if your garage is attached to the house, as the insulated curtain helps keep the cold out and reduces noise. As this fast-delivery version comes without a hood, it must be installed internally behind the structural opening so the roll is hidden from the outside.

Practical Features

The LT operates effortlessly at the touch of a button. It comes supplied with the SeceuroSense Plus control unit, which features a built-in long-lasting LED courtesy light that illuminates your garage when the door is operated and switches off automatically after a few minutes. This makes your garage a safer place when parking at night. You'll receive two remote control key fob transmitters as standard, using rolling code technology for secure access.

Safety is also taken care of. The door uses a bottom edge safety sensor rather than illegal infra-red beams, meaning it automatically stops and reverses if it detects an obstruction while closing. An internal manual override is included as standard for power failures and is located on the same side as the motor unit, which can be specified when ordering.

  • Effortless electric operation with two rolling code remote controls included
  • Space saving vertical lift allows parking millimetres from the door
  • Bottom edge safety sensor for full regulatory compliance
  • Internal manual override included for use during power cuts
  • Built-in LED courtesy light activates automatically when the door is operated

SeceuroSense Plus Control Unit

The SeceuroSense Plus combines remote and push control functions with a courtesy light, all housed in one neat wall-mounted unit. It's a tried and tested control system used across the Seceuroglide range.

  • Integral alarm available as an optional extra, housed within the board
  • Improved cable and panel access points for neater, more efficient installations and repairs
  • Long-lasting LED courtesy light
  • Clear fault diagnosis on the front cover with LED indicator lights
  • Built in ground exclusion removes the need for magnets
  • Ability to programme modes without removing the front cover
  • Limit setting direct from the board through a built-in test lead for ease of installation
  • Separate lighting feed (up to 300W) integral to the board

Technical Specifications

Manufactured in the UK, the LT uses twin-walled, double-skinned aluminium slats filled with CFC-free foam insulation. The slats are 78.5mm high and 17mm thick, providing a strong, stable curtain that weighs roughly 5kg per square metre. The door runs in extruded aluminium guide rails fitted with dense brush strips to minimise draughts and rattle. It's powered by a reliable SeceuroDrive tubular motor, though you have the option to upgrade to a Somfy motor if preferred.

Options and Variations

Even on a fast delivery schedule, you aren't restricted to just a couple of standard finishes. The Seceuroglide LT is available in 21 different colour options, allowing you to coordinate the door with your home's exterior.

* Please note that unlike the Original Seceuroglide, the LT model uses a standard locking system and aluminium end plates rather than steel, and it doesn't feature the unique webbing system connecting the slats.

Installation Considerations

As this specific offer comes without a hood box, it's designed for an internal face-fix installation. This means the guide rails and the door roll will sit inside the garage, behind the brickwork opening. You will need a minimum of 300mm of clear headroom above the structural opening to accommodate the door roll. A level floor is essential to ensure the rubber weather seal on the bottom slat compresses evenly across the full width of the opening.

* Please note: In the absence of a spring, SWS apply an LT dummy end. This has an adjustable shaft in it designed to be moved so the axle becomes the right size. It can be stiff to pull initially, but once it's moved it runs freely. It then slots into the bracket as normal.

Use Case Guidance

The Seceuroglide LT is an excellent, cost-effective choice for the average family home where a reliable, insulated electric door is needed quickly. It gives you genuine Seceuroglide build quality at a price that competes with far lower specification doors from other manufacturers. If, however, your garage contains high-value items like classic cars or expensive tools, or if it has no alternative pedestrian access door, you might want to consider upgrading to the Secured by Design accredited Seceuroglide Original or Excel models for maximum security.

How to Order and Choose Your Options

Ordering your made-to-measure Seceuroglide LT roller garage door is a straightforward process. The door comes with everything you need for a standard installation, including the control unit and two remote key fobs. Below is a guide to help you understand the options available and how to select them.

Step 1: Choosing Your Size

All Seceuroglide LT doors are manufactured to the exact millimetre. To get the correct price bracket, you need to select the nearest 'up to' width and height from the dropdown menus.

  • Width: Choose the 'up to' size that covers your total over-guide width. This is your structural opening width plus the width of the guide rails (either 75mm or 90mm per side, depending on the door size)
  • Height: Choose the 'up to' size that covers your guide height. This is typically the height of your structural opening, not including the roll assembly above

Once you've selected the correct price bracket, simply type your exact ordering measurements (in millimetres) into the boxes provided. The door will be manufactured precisely to those dimensions.

Step 2: Curtain Colour

The Seceuroglide LT is available in 21 low-maintenance finishes. You can choose from 18 solid powder-coated colours or 3 painted woodgrain effects (Golden Oak, Irish Oak, or Rosewood). This allows you to perfectly coordinate the door with your home's existing aesthetic.

Step 3: Guide Rail Colour

The extruded aluminium guide rails can be finished to match your chosen curtain colour for a seamless look, or you can opt for a contrasting finish if you prefer. They are supplied in white or brown as standard, but matching the curtain is a popular choice for a more integrated appearance.

Step 4: Motor Position

You need to specify which side the SeceuroDrive motor should be located on. This is always determined by viewing the door from the inside of the garage looking out. The motor side also dictates where the internal manual override mechanism will be positioned, so it's important to choose the side that offers the easiest access in your garage.

Step 5: Installation Position

Because this fast delivery version is supplied without a hood box, there are two main ways it can be installed:

  • Face Fit Internally: The guide rails fix to the inside wall of the garage, behind the brickwork opening. This is the most common and recommended installation method for this specific door model
  • In-between Fit: The guide rails fit between the structural brickwork of the opening itself. If you choose this option, please note that the back of the door roll will be exposed from the outside, and you may need to arrange for some additional cladding to conceal it

Step 6: Low Level External Manual Override

An internal manual override is supplied as standard to allow you to open the door from the inside during a power cut. However, if the roller door is the only way into your garage (meaning there is no side pedestrian door or internal door from the house), an external low level manual override is essential.

This option provides a secure access point on the outside of the garage, allowing you to manually wind the door open if the power fails. It is suitable for walls up to 500mm thick. If you are ever locked out without power, this override ensures you can still get your car out.

Detailed Specifications & Ordering Guide

The Seceuroglide LT has been designed to offer a fully compliant electric insulated roller garage door at a most competitive price. Below are the key technical specifications and features that make this door a reliable choice for your home.

Measuring and Ordering

Understanding the ordering sizes is key to ensuring your new door fits perfectly. The 'up to' sizes referred to in the pricing are the overall door and guide width combined (over guides), and the guide height required without the roll above.

For example, to price a door for an opening 2300mm wide and 2200mm high (assuming you are installing the roller door on the inside face of the garage opening), you need to specify a door 2450mm over guides and 2200mm in guide height for pricing. This is calculated by taking your 2300mm opening width and adding 75mm for each guide rail (150mm total). In this scenario, you would select 'Up to 2600' for the width and 'Up to 2200' for the height from the dropdown menus.

Guide Rails and Installation

The Seceuroglide LT is supplied with 75mm guide rails for doors up to 3000mm wide. For larger doors over 3000mm wide, it comes with 90mm guide rails for added stability. These guides come powder-coated in either white or brown as standard.

This specific fast-delivery version is supplied with no hood box as standard. Because of this, it is primarily designed for internal face-fix installations behind the structural opening. If an 'in-between the opening' installation is required, please note that some additional cladding may be required to cover the back side of the door roll, as this will be exposed without a full box.

Electric Operation and Control

The door is powered by a reliable SeceuroDrive economy tubular motor as standard. You operate the door using the SeceuroSense Plus control unit, which acts as a receiver and push-button control station.

  • Remote Control: Open your door without leaving the car. Two remote control transmitters using rolling code technology are included
  • Courtesy Light: Making your garage a safer place when parking at night, the SeceuroSense Plus unit combines a built-in LED courtesy light with both remote and push control functions. The light activates automatically when the door is operated
  • Peace of Mind: A special 'Vacation Mode' can be activated using your hand transmitter. This disables the control panel on the wall unit, preventing an intruder from operating the door from the inside if they manage to break into the garage via a window or side door

Safety and Security Features

  • Secure Locking: A unique end plate system secures the door shut every time, ensuring the curtain cannot be physically lifted open from the bottom when fully closed
  • Safety Bottom Edge: A fully compliant wireless safety bottom edge is included as standard. This stops and reverses the door if it meets an obstruction
  • Wireless Safety Brake: Doors weighing over 26.5kg will be supplied with a wireless safety brake mechanism. This will prevent the curtain from falling in the unlikely event of a motor failure
  • Dummy End: LT doors weighing less than 26.5kg will be supplied with a dummy end rather than a safety brake, which is standard practice for lighter curtains

Practical Benefits

  • Power Cuts - No Problem!: Every SeceuroGlide LT comes supplied with a simple internal manual override crank, ensuring you will never be accidentally locked in your garage during a power failure
  • Space Saving: The tighter coiling of the aluminium slats leaves more headroom and storage space inside your garage
  • Maximum Weather Protection: The LT is engineered to block cold draughts and keep your garage warmer. The guide rails are lined with a dense brush strip, and the bottom slat features a deep, shaped rubber seal to compress against the floor

Optional Extras

  • External Low-Level Manual Release: An essential item if your roller door is the only means of access into the garage. This allows you to engage the manual override from the outside during a power cut. It is suitable for walls up to 500mm thick as standard; if your wall is thicker, the 7mm hex bar will need extending on site
  • Sloping Bottom Slat: If your driveway slopes across the width of the opening, a sloped bottom slat is available to accommodate inclines of up to 250mm. Please contact us directly to discuss your requirements for this option

Installation Guidance

The Seceuroglide LT fast delivery electric roller garage door is a straightforward installation for anyone with strong DIY skills, but it's important to understand the process before you begin. As this specific model is supplied without a hood box, it is primarily designed for an internal face-fix installation.

Before You Start

  • Check Your Opening: Ensure the structural opening is square and plumb. Measure the diagonals to check for any significant differences. A level floor is also essential, as the bottom slat's rubber weather seal needs to sit flush to prevent draughts and water ingress
  • Headroom: You must have a minimum of 300mm of clear headroom above the structural opening to accommodate the endplates and the rolled-up curtain. Without a hood, the roll will be visible from inside the garage
  • Sideroom: Check that you have enough space on the internal walls (the reveals) either side of the opening to fix the guide rails. You'll need 75mm per side for doors up to 3000mm wide, and 90mm per side for larger doors
  • Power Supply: You will need a suitable 13-amp fused spur located near the motor side of the door to power the SeceuroSense Plus control unit

Fitting the Guide Rails

The guide rails are fixed to the inside face of the garage wall. It is absolutely critical that these are installed perfectly vertical and parallel to each other. Use a long spirit level to ensure accuracy. If the guides are out of plumb, the door curtain will bind and not run smoothly, which can damage the motor over time. Fix the guides securely using appropriate fixings for your wall type (brick, block, or timber).

Installing the Axle and Motor

The axle assembly, which houses the SeceuroDrive tubular motor, sits on the endplates above the guide rails. This is a heavy component and will require two people to lift it safely into position. Ensure the axle is perfectly level before securing it to the endplates. The motor cable will need to be routed neatly to the SeceuroSense Plus control unit.

Hanging the Curtain

The aluminium curtain slats are supplied rolled up. Carefully lower the curtain into the guide rails, ensuring the nylon endlocks slide smoothly into the channels. Once the curtain is in the guides, attach it to the axle using the provided locking straps. These straps are designed to secure the door firmly when closed, preventing it from being lifted.

Setting the Limits and Control Unit

The SeceuroSense Plus control unit must be mounted securely to the wall. The motor limits (the points where the door stops when fully open and fully closed) need to be set according to the manufacturer's instructions. The SeceuroSense Plus board features a built-in test lead specifically for this purpose, making the initial setup much easier. Once the limits are set, the safety bottom edge must be connected and tested to ensure the door reverses when it meets an obstruction.

Manual Override Setup

Every Seceuroglide LT comes with an internal manual override crank. This needs to be hooked up to the motor head so you can operate the door manually in the event of a power cut. If you have specified an external low-level manual override (because you have no other access to the garage), this will involve drilling a hole through the garage wall to connect the external lockable plate to the internal override mechanism.

Important Reminders

  • Always allow a small amount of fitting tolerance when measuring your opening
  • Do not operate the door electrically until the motor limits have been properly set and the safety edge is functioning correctly
  • If you have opted for an 'in-between the opening' installation rather than the standard internal face-fix, you will likely need to add some cladding or a fascia board to conceal the exposed back of the door roll from the outside
  • If you are unsure about the electrical connections or the physical installation, we strongly recommend hiring a professional garage door installer

Details on the SeceuroDrive Motor Limit Setting Instructions can be watched here.

Please Note: Important Information when installing the Seceuroglide LT Roller Doors.

In the absence of the spring we apply an LT dummy end. This has an adjustable shaft in it. This is designed to be moved so the axle becomes the right size. This is stiff to pull but once its moved it moves freely. This then slots in to the bracket as normal.

For  doors which have been supplied with a dummy end, the bearing will no longer be welded to the end.   Instead, the bearing will now be located within the accessory box and will need to be installed manually.

To install the bearing, simply slide the bearing ontl the end of the dummy end shaft.

Warranty Information

The Seceuroglide LT electric roller garage door is backed by a comprehensive manufacturer's warranty from SWS UK, providing you with long-term peace of mind. As the retailer, Garagedoorsonline.co.uk is your first point of contact for any warranty queries or claims, and we will liaise directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

What's Covered

The Seceuroglide LT comes with specific warranty periods depending on the component, subject to correct installation, normal operation, and regular maintenance.

5-Year Comprehensive Warranty

The core components of the door are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase. This includes:

  • The Aluminium Curtain: The insulated slats and powder-coated solid colours are warranted against excessive fading, peeling, and manufacturing defects under normal use
  • The Drive System: The standard SeceuroDrive tubular motor, or the optional Somfy motor upgrade, is covered against mechanical failure
  • The Control System: The SeceuroSense Plus receiver unit, the remote control key fobs, and the safety bottom edge sensor are covered against electrical and component failure
  • Hardware: The guide rails, endplates, axle assembly, and locking straps are covered against structural failure

10 Year Finish Guarantee (Laminate Foil Woodgrain Only)

If you choose one of the textured laminate foil woodgrain finishes, the surface finish of the curtain slats benefits from an extended 10-year guarantee against peeling and significant discolouration. Please note this extended finish warranty applies exclusively to the foiled woodgrain options, not the standard powder-coated or painted finishes.

What's Not Covered

To ensure your warranty remains valid, it's important to understand the exclusions. The warranty does not cover:

  • Incorrect Installation: Damage or failure caused by the door not being installed in accordance with the manufacturer's fitting instructions. This includes issues arising from fitting the door into an opening that isn't square or plumb, or failing to set the motor limits correctly
  • Wear and Tear: General wear and tear from everyday use, including minor cosmetic marking on the internal face of the slats over time. This marking is a known characteristic of roller doors and occurs as the curtain rolls up and down
  • Accidental Damage: Scratches, dents, or structural damage caused after delivery, including impact from vehicles or forced entry attempts
  • Lack of Maintenance: Failure of components due to a lack of basic maintenance, such as neglecting to clean the guide rails or ignoring obvious faults
  • Shade Variations: Minor shade differences between the powder-coated curtain slats, bottom rail, and guide rails are normal and not considered a manufacturing defect
  • Water Ingress: While the door provides excellent weather protection, it is not guaranteed to be 100% watertight in extreme weather conditions or driving rain, particularly if the floor is not perfectly level

Making a Warranty Claim

If you experience an issue that you believe is covered under warranty, please contact us at garagedoorsonline.co.uk as soon as possible. To process your claim efficiently, we will need:

  • Your original order number and date of purchase
  • A clear description of the fault
  • Photographs or a short video demonstrating the issue, if applicable
  • Details of who installed the door (e.g., DIY or professional installer)

In many cases, replacement parts (such as a new remote fob or a control board component) can be sent directly to you to resolve the issue quickly without needing to return the entire door.

Maintaining Your Warranty

To keep your door running smoothly and your warranty valid, we recommend a simple maintenance routine:

  • Keep the guide rails clean and free from dirt, leaves, and debris to prevent the curtain from jamming
  • Wash the curtain periodically with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth to protect the paint finish
  • Regularly check that the safety bottom edge is functioning correctly by placing an object in the door's path while it is closing
  • If the door starts making unusual noises or struggling to open/close, stop using it and investigate the cause to prevent damage to the motor

* Please note that this warranty is provided by SWS UK as the manufacturer. Garagedoorsonline.co.uk acts as the retail seller and your first point of contact. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by this warranty.

Measuring Guidance

Because every Seceuroglide LT roller garage door is manufactured to your exact millimetre measurements, getting the sizing right before you order is the most important step. As this fast-delivery model is supplied without a hood box, it is primarily designed to be fitted internally, behind the structural opening (a face fix installation).

Step 1: Check Your Opening

Before taking any measurements for the door itself, check the condition of your garage opening. It needs to be structurally sound and capable of supporting the weight of the guide rails and the door roll. Measure the diagonals of the opening to ensure it is square. If it's significantly out of square, the guide rails will not sit flush, and the door will not operate correctly.

Step 2: Measure the Structural Opening

Take three measurements for both the width and the height of your brickwork opening (top, middle, and bottom for the width; left, centre, and right for the height). Use the narrowest width and the shortest height as your baseline measurements.

  • Opening Width: This is the distance between the two side walls (the reveals) of your garage opening
  • Opening Height: This is the distance from the floor to the underside of the lintel (the top of the opening)

A level floor is essential for a roller door. If your floor slopes across the width, you will need to request a sloping bottom slat (available as an optional extra) to ensure the door seals properly when closed.

Step 3: Check Your Clearances

For an internal face-fix installation, you need to ensure you have enough room inside the garage to accommodate the door mechanism.

  • Sideroom: You need enough flat, vertical space on the inside walls (the returns) on either side of the opening to fix the guide rails. For doors up to 3000mm wide, you need a minimum of 75mm on each side. For doors over 3000mm wide, you need a minimum of 90mm on each side
  • Headroom: You need a minimum of 300mm of clear headroom above the structural opening (from the underside of the lintel up to the ceiling or first obstruction). This space is required for the endplates and the rolled-up door curtain

Step 4: Calculate Your Ordering Sizes

When placing your order on our website, you need to provide two specific measurements: the Over Guide Width and the Guide Height.

1. Over Guide Width (The Ordering Width)

This is the total width of the door, including the guide rails on both sides. To calculate this, take your structural opening width (the narrowest measurement from Step 2) and add the width of the guide rails.

  • If your door will be up to 3000mm wide: Add 150mm (75mm for each guide rail) to your opening width
  • If your door will be over 3000mm wide: Add 180mm (90mm for each guide rail) to your opening width

Example: If your brickwork opening is 2200mm wide, your Over Guide Width for ordering is 2350mm (2200 + 75 + 75).

2. Guide Height (The Ordering Height)

This is the height of the guide rails themselves, which typically matches your structural opening height (the shortest measurement from Step 2). You do not need to add the 300mm headroom requirement into this measurement; the factory will automatically add the endplates and door roll above the guide height you specify.

Example: If your brickwork opening is 2100mm high, your Guide Height for ordering is 2100mm.

Important Notes for Ordering

* Always measure in millimetres for accuracy. Never round up or down unless you are intentionally allowing for fitting tolerance.

* If you are planning an 'in-between the opening' installation rather than the standard internal face-fix, the measuring process is different. In this case, your Over Guide Width will be exactly the same as your structural opening width (minus a few millimetres for fitting tolerance), and your Guide Height will be your structural opening height minus the 300mm required for the door roll. Please note that this installation method will significantly reduce your drive-through width and height.
