Garador Georgian (White) Steel Up and Over Garage Door
The Garador Georgian is a classic square panelled up and over garage door with a very traditional, front door style look across the full width. The evenly spaced, pressed panels create a neat grid pattern, giving the door more shape and shadow than a plain design and helping it sit nicely on both older and newer properties. Finished in white, it blends easily with standard windows and fascias, so it is an easy choice when you want the garage to look smart without drawing too much attention to itself.
Features and benefits
• Strong pressed steel panel with a full box section chassis for a rigid, long lasting door leaf that feels solid in everyday use.
• Crisp Georgian panel pattern for a more decorative appearance and improved kerbside presence over a flat or ribbed door.
• Factory finished in durable white powder coat, low maintenance with only occasional washing down required.
• Available with either canopy or retractable operating gear to suit simple manual operation or future electric automation.
• Offered in a wide range of standard single sizes, with matching double width Georgian doors available separately for larger garages.
• Compatible with factory fitted steel fixing frames for easier installation, better clearances and a cleaner internal finish around the opening.
• UK manufactured using proven components and hardware, providing smooth, reliable operation and straightforward servicing over the years.
• An ideal choice where you want a more traditional, panelled style garage door that still offers good value and practicality for everyday family use.
Factory Fitted Steel Fixing Frame
We highly recommend the Garador steel fixing frame as it offers the tightest tolerance around the edge of the door panel, creating a faster and neater fit compared to a standard timber subframe.

Choose Handle Option
Choose either a black nylon handle or a high quality diecast metal handle in white, brass or chrome effect.

Extra Security Locking
For manually operated doors we offer the option to upgrade to a 4 point locking rod system for improved security and resistance to forced entry. Combined with a steel sub frame the Garador locking rod system utilises the steel closing lip along with steel plates to prevent easy access to the internal locking catches for the door.
The improved security of a locking latch in each corner protects against forced entry.
Suitable for retractable gear options the electric operated ‘De Latch Security Locking’ system works with the existing manual locking mechanism, and the remote control operator, by connecting with a mechanical latching system to provide 3 point locking security.
The ‘De Latch Security Locking’ system is not suitable for canopy doors.
Emergency External Release
Required for garages without alternative means of access to the garage. This system attaches a cable internally, within the garage, and offers a way to externally disconnect the remote control operator towing arm, perfect in the event of a power failure.
Remote Control Electric Operator
Complete with two hand transmitters the Garamatic 9 electric operator is reliable, secure and offers excellent value for money. The operator is maintenance free and creates a super smooth and quiet door. Other features include a manual override option, for the event of power failure, an integral LED light with 10 LEDs to combine for low power consumption and it complies with the latest European safety standards.
Technical Specification
The Garador Georgian is a traditional one piece steel up and over garage door available in a wide range of standard and purpose made sizes. It uses a pressed steel panel within a strong box section chassis, finished as standard in white (RAL 9016) with a durable powder coated surface. The Georgian panel design has deep, crisp pressings and a rivet free outer face for a clean, tidy appearance with minimal dirt traps.
Door construction
The door leaf is formed from high grade galvanised steel with pressed Georgian style panels and a rigid box section frame around the perimeter. This combination provides strength against twisting and bowing, helping the door to run smoothly in the track system and close accurately against the frame. The white (RAL 9016) finish is applied at the factory, giving a consistent colour and a surface that only needs occasional washing down for general upkeep. White doors are supplied unwrapped as standard to reduce packaging waste and speed up handling on site.
Operating gear options
Garador Georgian doors are offered with a choice of canopy or retractable operating gear on single sizes, with retractable gear supplied as standard on double doors. Both systems are spring assisted for easier manual operation and to support the weight of the door panel throughout the opening and closing cycle.
Canopy gear (single doors)
With canopy gear, the door travels in vertical guides on each side of the opening and is counterbalanced by an overhead torsion spring mounted on a steel shaft above the door. In the fully open position, approximately one third of the door height projects forwards beyond the brickwork, forming a canopy over the entrance. The nominal drive through width is typically 40 mm less than the structural opening, and the drive through height is around 130 mm less than the structural opening height, so it is important to check vehicle and headroom clearances when measuring.
Single canopy doors are supplied complete with a cast alloy drum and cable system, 2‑point locking to help resist unauthorised entry, and an anti‑drop safety device designed to prevent the door from crashing down in the event of a spring or cable failure. A styled external handle is included for safe, comfortable operation, and the main torsion spring is zinc coated for added durability and a cleaner visual finish inside the garage.
Retractable gear (single and double doors)
Retractable gear allows the door to run back on horizontal overhead tracks, so when fully open the whole door leaf sits inside the garage rather than projecting forwards. The tracks are supported on wall or ceiling mounted brackets, and this gear arrangement is particularly well suited to electric remote control automation. For single retractable doors, the nominal drive through width is generally 105 mm less than the structural opening, with a drive through height around 110 mm less than the opening height. On double doors the drive through height reduction is approximately 140 mm from the structural opening height.
Single retractable doors are supplied with a secure parking position to help prevent uncontrolled closing when the door is part open. A multiple spring cassette and pivot arm cover provide trap protection around the main moving parts to reduce the risk of injury. As with the canopy version, a design handle is included for safe manual operation and the locking is arranged to provide secure engagement against forced entry. Please note that retractable doors do not have a back brace, so internal clearance behind the door is generally better for shelving or internal fixtures.
Retractable Plus gear (optional, single doors)
Retractable Plus gear is an optional version of the standard retractable system, designed specifically for garages with narrower openings or where maximum clear passage is required. It uses specially shaped lifting arms and modified bottom spring brackets to increase the effective drive through width when the door is open. Retractable Plus is available on selected single door sizes, typically around 1931 mm, 1981 mm and 2136 mm high and up to approximately 2284 mm wide. It is not offered on doors over 7'6" wide. This option is especially useful where the garage sits close to a boundary wall or you need a little extra width for wider vehicles or mirrors.
Locking and security
As standard, single canopy doors feature 2‑point locking, engaging on both sides of the door to help resist prising and forced opening. Retractable single doors use secure multi‑point engagement through the locking bars and pivot arm system to hold the door firmly in the frame. A de‑latch security locking kit is available when an electric operator is fitted; this allows the operator to work in conjunction with the mechanical locking catches on the door leaf, rather than relying solely on the drive unit to hold the door closed. Using a de‑latch kit can provide an extra layer of security, especially on doors facing the road.
Sizes and options
The Garador Georgian up and over door is produced in a full range of popular single and double standard sizes and can also be supplied made to measure in many cases. This makes it suitable for both new build openings and older garages where sizes are non‑standard. Doors can be supplied with or without a factory fitted steel fixing frame; using the steel frame is generally recommended for the best fit, improved weather sealing and easier installation, as it removes the need for a separate timber goalpost frame.
