When did Hormann start making roller garage doors?
Mainly for the UK market initially they stated with the Rollmatic about 10 years ago now and offered a very high quality and somewhat unique electric roller garage door. Using a smooth face finish aluminium double skinned insulated curtain slat they gave us a roller door with an external electric motor. Why?
Because it used their very reliable motor as used in millions of their sectional garage door operators and then gave a very easy emergency manual override system as well as proven technology for the safety detection not using any beams or sensors like all others do.
The Rollmatic roller garage door is a made to measure, high quality, electric, aluminium, insulated door which is now available in their original form, the Rollmatic 2 or with a tube motor like other brands, or even as a hybrid door with sectional door type tracking but the same roller door curtain, The Rollmatic OD.

The Hormann RollMatic celebrates the best in German engineering, as it's top features are complimented by a unique vertically mounted spring system.
Very much like the principle of a sectional door, the balance of the door curtain weight is achieved by a vertically mounted spring to one side with a motor driving the curtain barrel on the other side. This offers a simple, safe and smooth function with the easiest manual override system for a roller door.
