The SeceuroGlide Classic - now also known as the SeceuroGlide Original - is the UK's first purpose built insulated roller garage door, and it was designed by security shutter specialists SWS. That heritage matters, because this isn't a standard garage door with security features added on afterwards. It's a security door that happens to be a garage door.
Built from twin walled aluminium slats with an insulating foam core, the curtain is held together using SWS's patented continuous webbing system rather than the plastic end clips found on other roller doors. This makes the SeceuroGlide Classic noticeably quieter in operation and eliminates the rattling and wear that clip-based doors develop over time.
A heavy-duty extruded aluminium top rail, 100mm fluted axle, and galvanised steel end plates give the door a level of structural rigidity that most domestic roller doors simply don't have. The patented auto-locking mechanism secures the curtain every time it closes, physically preventing it from being lifted from outside. It's Secured by Design accredited as standard - meeting the police-preferred specification for crime prevention without any optional upgrades.
Every door is made to measure, electrically operated with the SeceuroDrive motor, and now comes with a 7-year warranty on both the motor and the SeceuroSense Plus control unit.

SeceuroGlide Classic (Original) Insulated Roller Garage Door - No Hood
The SeceuroGlide Classic, now renamed by the manufacturer as the SeceuroGlide Original, is the UK's original insulated roller garage door. Designed and launched by SWS - a company whose roots are firmly in the security shutter industry - this door was built from the ground up with security as its primary focus. It remains the benchmark that other insulated roller doors in the UK are measured against.
This is the standard 'no hood' version, meaning the curtain roll sits inside the garage without an external cover. It's the ideal choice when the door is being fitted behind the opening with enough internal headroom to conceal the roll completely out of sight. If you'd prefer a neater finish or are fitting externally, we also offer this door with a full hood cover:

The Quietest Roller Door on the Market
One of the standout differences between the SeceuroGlide Classic and virtually every other roller garage door available in the UK is how quiet it is. Most roller doors use small plastic end clips to link each slat together. These clips wear over time, rattle during operation, and eventually need replacing. SWS took a completely different approach with the SeceuroGlide by developing a patented continuous webbing system that runs along both sides of the curtain, binding the slats together as a single unit.
This webbing acts as a dampener between each slat, absorbing vibration and eliminating the slat-on-slat contact noise you'd typically hear with a standard roller door. The result is a noticeably quieter door from day one, and because there are no plastic clips to degrade, it stays that way for years. If you've ever heard a cheap roller door operating, you'll appreciate the difference immediately.
Security That Comes from a Shutter Manufacturer
SWS weren't garage door manufacturers who bolted on some security features as an afterthought. They were security shutter specialists who applied that expertise to the domestic garage door market, and it shows in the construction of the SeceuroGlide Classic.
• Patented auto-locking system - the door locks itself every time it closes. There's no separate latch or bolt mechanism to forget. The curtain physically cannot be lifted from the outside when the door is shut.
• Galvanised steel end plates - where most roller doors use aluminium end plates, the SeceuroGlide uses galvanised steel. It's a stronger, more attack-resistant mounting point that makes forced entry significantly harder.
• 100mm fluted axle - a larger diameter axle than you'll find on most domestic roller doors, providing greater rigidity across the full width of the curtain both when moving and when locked shut.
• Extruded aluminium guides and top rail - the side guides are heavy-duty extruded aluminium profiles, not lightweight pressed aluminium. This keeps the curtain firmly seated in its tracks.
• Secured by Design accredited - this door meets the police-preferred specification for crime prevention as standard, not as an optional upgrade. That accreditation isn't easily earned and speaks to the overall construction quality.
Colour Options - One of the Widest Ranges Available
The SeceuroGlide Classic is available in a huge range of colour options, making it one of the most versatile roller doors for matching your property's existing colour scheme. You can choose from a wide palette of standard powder-coated colours, and SWS have recently expanded the range further with additional Renolit foil-coated finishes.
These laminated foil options include a selection of realistic woodgrain effects as well as smooth contemporary finishes, all bonded directly onto the aluminium slats. The Renolit foils are UV resistant and hard-wearing, so they keep their appearance over time without fading or peeling. Between the powder-coated and foil-coated options, there are now more colour and finish choices on this door than on virtually any other insulated roller door in the UK.
Motor and Remote Control
Every SeceuroGlide Classic is electrically operated as standard using the SeceuroDrive tubular motor, complete with a built-in manual override for use during power cuts. Both the motor and the wall-mounted SeceuroSense Plus receiver now come with a 7-year warranty.
When ordering, you'll choose which two remote controls you'd like included with the door.
A note on Bi-Directional remotes - these newer handsets use three of their four buttons to operate a single door (Open, Close, and ASK), so one handset can't control two separate doors. If you have two or more garage doors, it's better to go with the standard remote control handsets instead.
SeceuroSense Plus Control Unit
The SeceuroSense Plus is the wall-mounted control unit that handles both remote and push-button operation. It includes a long-lasting LED courtesy light that activates when the door operates, lighting up the garage as you pull in at night.
• Programme modes without removing the front cover
• Limit setting direct from the board through a built-in test lead for easier installation
• Clear fault diagnosis with LED indicator lights on the front panel
• Built-in ground exclusion removes the need for floor magnets
• Separate lighting feed (up to 300W) for additional garage lighting
• Compatible with wired or wireless safety edges
• Improved cable and panel access points for neater installations
• Integral alarm available as an optional extra, housed within the board
Ordering Dimensions
Every SeceuroGlide Classic is individually manufactured to your exact sizes, at no extra cost. Simply provide the overall width and overall height required. Always remember to allow for some fitting tolerance when measuring your opening.

Configuring Your SeceuroGlide Original Online
When ordering your SeceuroGlide Original through our website, you will be guided through a series of straightforward configuration steps to ensure your new door is built exactly to your requirements. Here is how the process works:
1. Sizing and Base Price
First, select your nearest "up to" size for the overall width and overall height from the drop-down menus. This establishes your base price. During the final stages of your order, you will be prompted to enter your exact, specific millimeter dimensions into the provided text boxes so the door can be manufactured perfectly to size.
2. Choose Your Curtain Colour
Select from the enormous range of standard solid colours, metallic finishes, or Renolit woodgrain foil options.
3. Choose Your Guide Rail Colour
You can choose to have your side guide rails and top box (if applicable) finished in the exact same colour as your door curtain, or you can select a contrasting colour to match your window frames or exterior trim.
4. Select Your Guide Rail Width
The SeceuroGlide Original comes with 75mm extruded aluminium guide rails as standard. However, you will be asked to confirm your guide size:
• 75mm Guides: The standard choice for most domestic garages.
• 90mm Guides: You can manually upgrade to the heavier-duty 90mm guides if you prefer. Note: If your door is over 4600mm wide, you must select the 90mm guides, as they are a mandatory structural requirement for doors of that width (supplied at no extra cost).
5. Choose Your Motor and Override Side
Specify whether you want the electric motor and the internal manual override mechanism located on the left-hand side or the right-hand side. Please note: This is always determined by viewing the door from the inside of the garage looking out.
6. Select Your Fitting Position
Tell us how you are installing the door:
• Internal Face Fit: Fitting to the inside face of the garage pillars (the most common and secure method).
• Between Fit: Fitting within the tunnel of the garage opening.
7. Choose Your Remote Control Transmitters
Every electric SeceuroGlide door comes with two remote controls as standard. You can mix and match from the following styles based on what suits you best:
• Plus Transmitter (3 Channel): The largest handset, featuring large tactile buttons. Excellent for wall mounting using the included holder.
• Smooth Transmitter (2 or 4 Channel): Available in black or white. A sleek, modern fob design perfect for keeping on your car keys.
• Classic Transmitter (2 Channel): The traditional, rugged SeceuroGlide fob design.
8. Additional Controls and Accessories
Finally, you can add optional extras depending on your specific garage layout and daily use:
• Low-Level External Manual Release: (Essential) If your roller door is the only way to enter your garage, you must add this lockable external override. It allows you to manually wind the door open from the outside in the event of a power cut.
• Wireless Keypads: For PIN-code entry without needing a remote control.
• Surface-Mounted Keyswitches: For physical key operation.
• Alarm Systems: An integral alarm system that plugs directly into the SeceuroSense Plus control board.

Motor and Override Positioning
Unless specifically requested otherwise, the SeceuroDrive tubular motor will be fitted on the left hand side of the door (when viewed from inside the garage looking out). The standard internal manual override mechanism will always be situated on the same side as the motor. You can choose whether you need this on the left or right during the ordering process.
Guide Rails: 75mm or 90mm Options
The SeceuroGlide Original uses 75mm extruded aluminium guide rails as standard for the vast majority of garage openings. However, for wider openings over 4600mm, the door will automatically be upgraded to heavy-duty 90mm guides at no additional cost to ensure the curtain remains completely secure and stable.
You can also choose to manually upgrade to 90mm guides on smaller doors if you prefer a heavier-duty look or need to bridge a larger gap. Important Note: If your door requires 90mm guides (either by choice or because it is over 4600mm wide), you must allow 180mm for the guides in total, rather than the standard 150mm required for the 75mm guides. Always double-check your 'overall guide width' measurements.
Accessories and Upgrades
External Low Level Manual Release
An essential safety addition if the roller door is the only way into your garage. If you experience a power cut, this lockable external point allows you to insert a crank handle and manually wind the door open from the outside. The standard kit is suitable for walls up to 500mm thick (the 7mm Hex bar can be extended on site for thicker walls).
External Wireless Keypad
A brilliant, easy-to-install addition that allows you, your family, or trusted tradespeople to operate the door securely using a PIN code without needing a transmitter. Because it is completely wireless, it can be mounted anywhere outside without the need for drilling cables through the wall.
Choosing Your Remote Control Transmitters
When purchasing a SeceuroGlide Original, you can select which two remotes you would like included. The right choice depends on how many doors you have and how you use your garage. For example, you might want one smooth transmitter for your car keys, and a wall-mounted Plus transmitter by the back door acting as a wireless push button.
> Plus Transmitter (3 Channel): The largest handset with the most tactile buttons, making it ideal for wall mounting with the included holder or for those who find small buttons difficult to use.
> Smooth Transmitter (2 or 4 Channel): Available in Black or White, complete with a holder. A sleek, modern design that sits perfectly on a keyring.
> Classic Transmitter (2 Channel): The traditional, robust SeceuroGlide fob design.
Surface Mounted Keyswitch
A hardwired alternative to the wireless keypad. This single-pole keyswitch allows you to open and close the door using a physical key (3 keys provided). It requires a simple impulse turn in either direction and must be wired directly back to the internal control box.

SeceuroGlide Original Hardware Assembly Guide
Installing a SeceuroGlide Original is a logical process, but because it is a precision-engineered door, getting the framework square and true is absolutely critical to how well the door will run for the rest of its life.
Here is a practical overview of the main hardware assembly steps. Always refer to the manufacturer’s full installation manual provided with your specific door for exact measurements and fixing requirements.
1. Preparing the Guides and End Plates
Before lifting anything into the opening, prepare the framework on the ground.
• Drill the Guides: You need to pre-drill the fixing holes in the extruded aluminium guide rails. The first and last holes must be exactly 120mm from each end of the guide. The number of intermediate fixings depends on the height of the door, but they should be evenly spaced.
• Assemble the Frame: Slot the heavy-duty galvanised steel end plates into the top of the guide rails. If your door was supplied with the short protective webbing strips in the accessory box, attach these to the end plate fixing plates now—they help protect the curtain as it rolls into the guides.
2. Fixing the Framework
Getting the framework perfectly level is the most important part of the entire installation. If the guides are out of plumb, the curtain will crab, the webbing will wear prematurely, and the motor will strain.
• Offer the assembled guides and end plates up to the brickwork (either internally behind the opening or between the opening, depending on your order).
• Prop them securely and use a high-quality spirit level to ensure the guides are perfectly vertical and parallel to each other. Check that the back faces of the guides and end plates sit flush against the wall and are not twisted.
• The distance between the outside edges of the end plates must exactly match the overall width stated on your order.
• Once you are absolutely certain everything is square, drill through your pre-made holes into the masonry and secure the framework using suitable, heavy-duty fixings. All three fixing points on the end plates must be used.
3. Installing the Axle Assembly
With the framework secure, you can install the barrel.
• Place the roller bracket bearings onto the square bars protruding from the ends of the fluted axle and secure them in place using the provided R-clips.
• Offer the complete axle assembly up to the end plates and slide the roller brackets into the tracking slots on the plates.
• Secure the axle assembly using the supplied bolts to prevent it from moving.
4. Loading the Curtain
Loading the curtain is the heaviest and trickiest part of the job. For all but the smallest doors, this is strictly a two-person task requiring two sets of step ladders.
• Protect the Axle: To prevent the aluminium curtain from getting scratched on the bare axle as you load it, wrap some of the bubble wrap from the packaging around the barrel.
• Lift and Feed: Carefully lift the tightly coiled curtain up level with the axle. Position it over the top of the barrel and gently feed the bottom of the curtain down into the guide rails on both sides.
• Lower Safely: Slowly unroll the curtain and gently lower it until the bottom slat rests on a tool box or a solid block (roughly 250mm tall) positioned between the guides. Never allow the curtain to free-fall unroll over the axle, as the sudden jolt will severely damage the slats and webbing.
5. Securing the Curtain to the Axle
With the door resting safely on the block, you can attach the top of the curtain to the barrel.
• Slide the patented locking/attachment arms onto the top slat of the curtain.
• Position the unattached end of each arm so that the fixing bar lines up exactly with the locating holes in the locking collars on the axle. (You may need to rotate the axle slightly using the manual override to get the alignment perfect).
• Slide the collars together to lock the arms firmly into the axle.
• Finally, use the manual override to wind the door up slightly so you can remove your resting block, then lower it to fit the bottom physical stops to the bottom slat.
Industry Leading Warranty Terms
All SeceuroGlide insulated roller garage doors purchased as a supply only offering include a comprehensive manufacturer warranty provided by SWS UK. Standing out as some of the best genuine warranty terms for an electric roller garage door in the UK, this coverage ensures long term peace of mind for your investment. Because the doors are supplied without professional fitting, this is strictly a parts only warranty that covers replacement components but excludes any on site labour costs.
Warranty Coverage By Model
The SeceuroGlide range offers exceptional warranty lengths depending on the specific model and its operating mechanism. Coverage protects against defects in material and workmanship, subject to correct installation, standard operation, and regular maintenance by a trained engineer.
| Door Model | Product Warranty | Standard Motor Warranty |
|---|---|---|
| Original, Excel & Compact | 5 Years | 7 Years (Registration Required) |
| LT | 5 Years | 5 Years |
| Manual | 5 Years | N/A (Manual Operation) |
Extended Automation Coverage
To further demonstrate product reliability, an extended 7 year automation warranty applies to the SeceuroDrive motor and SeceuroSense Plus control unit. To activate this industry leading benefit, the customer must register the product online within three months of installation. Please note that the entry level SeceuroGlide LT model carries a standard 5 year automation warranty and is excluded from this extension, and any door supplied with an alternative Somfy motor is capped at a 5 year warranty.
Premium Finish Guarantee
Standard plain colours and painted woodgrain finishes are protected under the baseline 5 year general product warranty. For maximum durability, doors ordered with premium Renolit wood effect finishes, specifically Rosewood, Mahogany, Golden Oak, White, and Black Brown, receive a limited 10 year guarantee covering the slat finish.
Important Exclusions
As a supply only arrangement, specific environmental limitations and product restrictions apply to the warranty coverage. Notably, the highly secure SeceuroGlide Excel model cannot be fulfilled as a supply only order; it must be professionally fitted by a trained installer to retain its certification and warranty.
- Weather and Sunlight: The warranty does not guarantee against water ingress in exposed locations during extreme weather, and thermal expansion on dark coloured doors facing direct sunlight is not considered a manufacturing defect.
- Cosmetic Marking: Standard operational friction may cause unavoidable cosmetic marking on the internal side of the curtain over time, which is explicitly excluded from coverage.
- Coastal Environments: Doors installed in coastal areas face a higher risk of deterioration and require strict adherence to the manufacturer cleaning instructions to maintain valid coverage.
Measuring Guide for SeceuroGlide Insulated Roller Garage Doors
Accurate measuring is essential when ordering a SeceuroGlide insulated roller garage door. Every door in the range is precision manufactured to exact ordering dimensions and made to the millimetre without any tolerance included by the factory. Taking the time to measure correctly will ensure a smooth installation and a perfect fit for your garage opening.
The Most Common Installation Method Internal Face Fit
The first and most important thing to know is that most electric roller garage doors are installed as an internal face fit. By fitting the guide rails to the inside face of your garage wall, you maximise the drive through width and height of your garage aperture. This method also ensures the curtain roll and endplates are neatly tucked away and hidden inside the garage, protecting them from the elements and providing a clean, seamless finish from the outside.
Understanding the Ordering Dimensions
As shown in the image on this page, the two key ordering dimensions for any SeceuroGlide roller garage door are the Over Guide Width and the Guide Height. The Over Guide Width is the total external width of the door including both side guide rails. The Guide Height is the vertical measurement of the visible door opening when the door is fully closed. It is important to note that the endplates and curtain roll sit above the Guide Height, so you must ensure there is sufficient headroom above your stated Guide Height to accommodate these components.
How to Measure Your Garage Opening
- Width: Measure the structural opening width of your garage at a minimum of three points the top, middle and bottom. Record the narrowest measurement.
- Height: Measure the height of your garage opening on both sides and in the centre. Record the shortest measurement.
- Headroom: Measure the available space above the top of your opening inside the garage. The SeceuroGlide Original and Excel models require a minimum of 300 mm headroom for doors up to 2500 mm in opening height and 350 mm for doors up to 3500 mm in opening height. The SeceuroGlide Compact requires just 205 mm of headroom. This space is needed for the endplates, curtain roll and any optional hood or fascia.
- Depth: Check there is sufficient depth inside the garage to allow the guides and any fixings to be secured without obstruction. Ensure no pipework, lighting, cabling or shelving will interfere with the guide rails or curtain travel.
Fitting Between an Opening
When installing a SeceuroGlide roller door between a structural opening, you must always allow for your own fitting tolerances. The factory manufactures each door to the exact dimensions you order, with no additional tolerance built in. If you order a door at the precise measurement of your opening, it may not fit. We strongly recommend deducting a suitable allowance from both the width and height measurements to ensure the door can be installed comfortably with room for packing and levelling during installation.
Fitting in Front of the Opening Externally
If you are considering fitting the door to the external face of your garage wall in front of the opening, there will be several other important considerations. External installations require specific components, such as a full box cover to protect the roll, as well as upgraded weatherproofing measures. Additionally, the standard bottom slat transmitter must always be installed internally and cannot be exposed to excessive moisture, meaning a higher IP rated transmitter will be required. Because of these extra requirements and safety considerations, it is best to email or call us directly to discuss your project before placing an order for an external face fit.
Important Tips Before You Order
- Always use a steel tape measure for accuracy and measure in millimetres.
- Check that the wall surfaces and lintel above the opening are flat, plumb and structurally sound enough to support the door and its fixings.
- Ensure any floor surface where the door will close is level. If the floor is uneven, consider the optional SeceuroSeal for improved weather protection at the base of the door.
- If you are unsure about any aspect of measuring, please contact us before ordering. Our team is happy to advise and help ensure you get the correct dimensions for your new door.
