Fast Delivery CarTeck Solid Insulated Sectional Garage Door
When you need a premium contemporary garage door without the typical manufacturing wait times, the CarTeck Solid profile model offers the perfect solution. By restricting production to a standard size range of three highly popular stock colours, this standard size special offer guarantees an exceptionally fast delivery turnaround of a maximum of three weeks. It is the ideal choice for rapid property renovations or urgent replacements, delivering world class German engineering directly to your home in record time.
A Sleek, Minimalist Solid Design
The 'Solid' profile offers the ultimate in modern, minimalist aesthetics. Unlike ribbed designs, these panels are completely flat with no horizontal creases or lines, creating a seamless and incredibly sleek appearance that perfectly complements contemporary architecture. Beyond its clean and striking exterior, the door is engineered using incredibly robust 40mm thick panels, constructed from a twin walled steel skin separated by a high density, 'foamed in place' polyurethane core.
Features and Benefits
This fast delivery CarTeck sectional door incorporates all the advanced operational features expected from a premium manufacturer, specifically tailored to accommodate various property styles using our comprehensive range of standard UK sizes.
- Exceptional Insulation: The 40mm thick double skinned steel panels and dense foam core provide outstanding thermal and acoustic insulation, helping to regulate your garage temperature and keep the weather at bay year round.
- Space Saving Vertical Operation: The door sections travel vertically through a track system using multiple rollers. The entire garage door rises upwards through a tight curve and comes to rest in the garage ceiling space parallel to the floor. This vertical operation ensures no drive through width is lost and very little internal wall space is consumed.
- Low Headroom as Standard: You can fit the CarTeck Drive operator in just 120mm of headroom. This low requirement comes as standard on over 95% of all standard door sizes, only increasing to 140mm when double springing is needed on the tallest and widest doors.
- Adaptable Installation Options: If your garage is attached to the house or you have an obstruction like a gas meter in the way, you can utilise the free 240mm headroom kit. This kit lifts the tracks higher and out of the way, providing extra clearance and preventing bumped heads when entering and exiting your garage.
Installation Note (Doors Over 2250mm High): Please be aware that frames for standard doors ordered over 2250mm high are supplied with pre drilled holes. This is only relevant if you are installing the door between the structural aperture (a reveal fit). In these instances, the drilled holes will be visible, meaning you will either need to clad over them yourself or purchase matching 3D 85mm Profile Covers (POA) to conceal them. If you are fitting the door behind the aperture, these holes will naturally be hidden by your brickwork. Please contact us if you require further advice on the best installation method for your property.
Please choose your required width and height first from the standard sizes offered. Once you have selected the closest size for your garage opening, configure the CarTeck Solid insulated sectional door using the options below.
Door Panel External Texture Finish:
Choose the surface finish for the outside face of the door. Both options are included at the same price:
- Smooth Silk Finish: A clean, even surface which suits the flat, unribbed CarTeck Solid panel design particularly well. Ideal for a simple contemporary appearance.
- Woodgrain Finish: A lightly textured surface with a more traditional garage door appearance, while retaining the clean Solid panel layout.
Choose Outer Fixing Frame Colour:
Select the colour for the steel fixing frame, including the side frame legs and top head section. Choose Black RAL 9005, Anthracite Grey RAL 7016 or White RAL 9016 at no extra cost.
Sectional garage doors are most commonly fitted behind the structural opening, where much of the outer frame is hidden behind the brickwork. The inner return edge of the frame will still be visible. If the door is being fitted within the opening, more of the frame will be on show, so it is worth selecting a colour that matches or contrasts with the door panels and surrounding property finish.
Choose Door Colour Finish:
Choose White RAL 9016, Anthracite Grey RAL 7016 or Black RAL 9005 for the external door panels. All three colours are offered at the same price within this standard size range.
White is the most traditional option and works with most garage styles. Anthracite Grey suits modern windows, composite doors and darker external finishes. Black provides the strongest contrast and can work particularly well with contemporary cladding, dark window frames or timber details.
Please note: Where the garage door is exposed to direct and prolonged sunlight, darker colours should ideally be avoided to minimise the risk of panel expansion.
Coastal Paint Treatment:
If the garage is in a coastal, exposed or high-salinity location, the optional coastal paint treatment should be considered. Salt in the air can affect normal painted steel finishes over time, particularly on properties close to the coast or in regularly exposed locations.
The coastal paint upgrade is available at additional cost for the outside face of the door panels and frame. It provides an additional layer of paint protection and includes a three year manufacturer’s warranty against peeling and blistering of the external panel finish, excluding normal colour fade and staining or bleed from door hardware.
Coastal paint treatment is supplied to order and will increase the normal delivery lead time. As the extra cost and lead time depend on the selected door size, colour, frame finish and location, please contact us with your postcode and full door requirements before ordering. We can then confirm whether the treatment is recommended, the exact additional cost and the expected delivery timescale.
Please note: The standard paint-finish warranty does not apply in coastal areas without the coastal paint upgrade. Regular cleaning and maintenance remain important, particularly where the door is exposed to salt spray, strong winds or persistent damp conditions.
Installation Position:
Choose how the sectional door will be fitted in relation to the structural garage opening.
- Fitting within the opening, Inbetween Fit: The steel frame is fitted directly within the brickwork aperture. This option is useful where there are no suitable internal brickwork returns, or where an internal obstruction prevents the door being fitted behind the opening. Allow for the frame legs, head section and fitting tolerance when selecting the ordering size.
- Face Fit Internally: The frame is fitted behind the garage opening against the internal wall. This is the usual installation method and gives the widest possible clear drive through opening. Frame legs are supplied pre-drilled for fixing.
- Inbetween Fit, Doors Over 2250mm High: Doors over 2250mm high require the 3D Profile Kit when fitted within the opening. This covers the relevant frame areas for a neater finished appearance.
Please refer to the Measure tab for detailed measuring guidance before ordering. Always allow suitable fitting tolerance.
Inbetween Opening Installation Kit:
This kit is required for an inbetween installation. It provides the heavy-duty brackets needed to fix the steel sub frame securely within the brickwork opening.
Remote Controlled Electric Operator:
Choose whether the door will be supplied for manual operation or with a new CarTeck MOTOR belt-drive operator.
- No Motor Required, Using Existing Motor: Choose this only where a compatible existing operator is being retained.
- No Motor Required, Manual Locking and Handle: The door is supplied with a black polymer handle and manual locking for hand operation.
- CarTeck MOTOR L60 Belt Drive: A smooth and quiet 600N electric operator for the majority of standard CarTeck sectional door sizes. Two 4-channel remote control handsets are supplied as standard.
- CarTeck MOTOR L75 Belt Drive: A more powerful 750N operator, suitable for larger, heavier or taller CarTeck sectional doors. It has a faster opening speed and includes two 4-channel remote control handsets, plus a wireless wall switch.
Both CarTeck MOTOR models use a belt-drive system for quiet operation and include an integrated LED courtesy light. Choose the L75 where the door is at the larger end of the standard size range, or where a faster opening speed is preferred.
Optional Motor Control Accessories:
Additional controls can be added when ordering an electric operator:
- Wireless Digital Keypad for External Use: Allows access using a personal PIN code rather than a remote handset. Useful where several people need access or when you do not want to carry a transmitter.
- myQ Gateway with Photocells: Adds smartphone control through the myQ app, allowing the garage door to be operated and monitored remotely. The supplied photocells provide the safety system required for this type of remote operation.
- Additional 4-Channel Transmitter: Two transmitters are supplied as standard with each CarTeck MOTOR operator. Add further handsets where needed for family members, vehicles or separate entrances.
Emergency External Release for Garages Without Another Access:
If there is no separate pedestrian entrance into the garage, select the emergency external release. This key-operated device allows the motor to be disengaged from outside during a power failure, so the door can be lifted manually.
If the garage has a side, rear or internal access door, the emergency release is usually not required.
Optional Window Designs:
The CarTeck Solid door can also be ordered with a choice of window designs, allowing natural daylight into the garage while retaining the clean flat-panel appearance. Window options are available with this three colour standard size door range in White RAL 9016, Anthracite Grey RAL 7016 and Black RAL 9005.
There are several window styles and glazing options available, depending on the selected door size and panel layout. Windows are priced on application, so please contact us before ordering with your required door size, colour and preferred window style. We can then confirm availability, pricing and the expected delivery time for your chosen arrangement.
Technical Performance and Specifications
The CarTeck Solid is an insulated sectional garage door made with 40mm thick double-skinned steel panels. Each panel has a rigid polyurethane foam core between galvanised steel skins, giving the door leaf a strong and insulated construction behind the completely flat external Solid panel design.
The outside steel face has a durable coated finish, available in Smooth Silk or Woodgrain texture. The panel construction is designed for regular domestic garage use and provides a more insulated and rigid alternative to a single-skin garage door.
Tested Performance Ratings:
- Panel insulation value: 0.56 W/m²K for the 40mm insulated panel.
- Installed door U value: 1.38 W/m²K, calculated for a complete 8ft wide x 7ft high door including panel joints and weather seals.
- Wind load resistance: Class 2 to EN 12424.
- Watertightness: Class 2 to EN 12425.
- Air permeability: Class 2 to EN 12426.
- Weather seals: Bottom, side, top and inter-panel seals help reduce draughts and water ingress around a correctly fitted door.
A level, sound garage threshold is essential for the best bottom-seal performance. The door seal follows the floor, so it can improve the seal across minor imperfections but cannot fully compensate for a badly damaged, uneven or sloping threshold.
Frame Details and Installation Position
The steel fixing frame comprises two vertical frame legs and a top head section. White RAL 9016 is supplied as standard, with Anthracite Grey RAL 7016 and Black RAL 9005 available at no extra cost within this range.
Face Fit Internally: This is the usual fitting method. The frame is installed behind the structural garage opening against the internal wall, giving the widest possible clear drive-through opening. The frame legs are supplied pre-drilled for fixing, but these holes are normally hidden by the brickwork reveal when fitted behind the opening.
Fitting Within the Opening, Inbetween Fit: The frame is installed directly within the brickwork opening. This option can work well where there are no suitable internal returns, or where an obstruction inside the garage prevents a face fit. The specialist Inbetween Opening Installation Kit is required for this fitting method.
Sizing for inbetween fitting: Deduct 180mm from the structural opening width to establish the ordering width. Deduct 120mm from the structural opening height for a manual door, or 140mm for a door with electric operation. If the additional low-headroom fitting bracket is selected, deduct 120mm for an electric door.
Doors over 2250mm high: When fitting within the opening, doors over 2250mm high require the 3D Profile Kit for a neater visible frame finish. This covers the relevant areas of the pre-drilled frame legs. Please refer to the Measure tab before ordering and always allow suitable fitting tolerance.
Hardware and Manual Operation
- Electric doors: No external handle or manual locking is supplied as standard, keeping the outside face of the Solid door clean and uninterrupted.
- Manual doors: If you are not fitting an electric operator, select the manual handle and locking option. This supplies the black polymer external handle and locking required for hand operation.
- Emergency external release: This is recommended where the garage has no other pedestrian entrance, such as a side, rear or internal access door. The key-operated release allows the motor to be disengaged from outside during a power cut, so the door can be lifted manually.
Remote Control Electric Operation
The CarTeck MOTOR L60 and L75 are belt-drive electric operators designed for CarTeck insulated sectional garage doors. Both models provide smooth and quiet operation, include an integrated LED motor light and are supplied with two 4-channel remote control handsets as standard.
- CarTeck MOTOR L60 Belt Drive: 600N lifting force, suitable for doors up to 123kg, with an opening speed of up to 160mm per second. This is suitable for the majority of standard CarTeck Solid sectional door sizes.
- CarTeck MOTOR L75 Belt Drive: 750N lifting force, suitable for all CarTeck door sizes, with an opening speed of up to 200mm per second. It also includes a wireless two-channel wall switch as standard.
Both MOTOR models are compatible with the CarTeck control accessory range. A wireless keypad can be added for PIN-code access without a remote transmitter. Additional 4-channel handsets are available where more than two are required.
For smartphone operation, select the myQ Gateway with photocells. The myQ system allows the garage door to be controlled and monitored through a compatible smartphone app. Photocells are required for safe remote operation.
Improved Bottom Weather Seal
The wider bottom rubber seal is designed to give a more forgiving contact with a properly prepared garage threshold. It helps accommodate small variations in the floor, but it cannot correct a broken, heavily uneven or badly sloping threshold.

Safer, Simpler Installation with Preloaded Tension Springs
Unlike many other sectional garage doors that rely on complex and potentially dangerous high-tension torsion springs mounted directly above the door, the CarTeck system utilises a far safer, multi-spring tension system.
To make installation as straightforward and safe as possible, all single-layer spring trays for standard CarTeck doors are now supplied fully pre-assembled straight from the factory. The high-level tension springs come preloaded within their fully enclosed steel trays, complete with the lifting cables already perfectly routed and retained by anti-twist brackets. This incredibly smart design not only prevents dirt from entering the mechanism, boosting durability, but it also dramatically speeds up the installation process on-site. The multiple spring system evenly balances the weight of the door panels, whilst the dual retaining cables reliably support the door in all situations, meaning it remains safe and operational even in an emergency. Because the springs are safely housed within these steel channels, tensioning the door is significantly safer and easier than wrestling with an exposed torsion spring bar.

- 3-year warranty on coastal paint finishes against peeling or blistering, where this finish has been specified at the time of order.
Usage Conditions
The warranty applies to doors installed and used in normal residential conditions, with normal use defined as up to five opening and closing cycles per day. Warranty periods may be reduced on oversized or super-size door models, particularly for springs and motorised operating equipment.
What the Warranty Provides
In the event of a valid warranty claim, the manufacturer may choose to repair the affected component, replace it with an equivalent defect-free part, or provide compensation reflecting the reduced value caused by the fault. Any warranty claim must be supported by proof of purchase and the relevant warranty documentation.
Warranty Conditions
- The garage door must be purchased through an approved supplier such as Garage Doors Online.
- The product must remain in the country where it was originally purchased.
- The door must be correctly installed, commissioned and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- A dated sales receipt and completed warranty paperwork may be required when making a claim.
Exclusions
The warranty does not cover damage or faults resulting from misuse, accidental damage, incorrect installation, poor maintenance, unauthorised alteration or external environmental influences. Normal wear and tear and minor visual changes over time are also excluded from cover.
- Remote control handsets, batteries and light bulbs are excluded.
- Damage caused during transport, assembly or commissioning is excluded.
- Surface fading, weathering and natural cosmetic ageing are not covered.
- Expansion or distortion caused by excessive heat or strong direct sunlight on dark finishes is excluded.
- Damage caused by fire, water ingress, salt air, chemicals, acids or other aggressive environmental conditions is excluded.
Important Note
This warranty applies in addition to your statutory rights. For complete peace of mind, installation should always be carried out correctly and the door should be used and maintained in line with the manufacturer’s guidance.
If fitting between the opening, please deduct 180mm from the opening width to determine the ordering width.
Deduct 120mm for manual doors and 140mm for electric operation (unless the additional fitting bracket is purchased then 120mm applies) from the opening height to determine the ordering height.
How to Measure for Your New CarTeck Sectional Door
Measuring for a sectional garage door is straightforward once you understand how the dimensions work. All CarTeck sectional doors are ordered by their internal structural opening dimensions (the actual drive-through width and height). Unlike some other door types, the steel installation frame is always calculated as an addition or reduction to these internal dimensions, depending on your chosen installation position.
For quick visual reference, please refer to the 3D technical drawings located in the image gallery at the top of this page. These clearly show how the frame fits in relation to the opening.
Measuring for a 'Behind the Opening' Fit (Standard)
This is the ideal and most common way to install a sectional door. The door and its steel framework sit entirely on the inner face of the garage wall.
- Width: Measure the brick-to-brick width of your garage opening in several places. Your ordering width is simply the smallest of these measurements.
- Height: Measure from the finished floor level to the underside of the lintel. Your ordering height is this exact measurement.
- Check your clearances: Because the frame sits behind the brickwork, you must ensure you have sufficient internal space. You will need a minimum of 85mm to 90mm of clear sideroom on both the left and right sides of the opening to accommodate the frame legs.
- Check your headroom: You must also have a minimum of 120mm of clear headroom between the lintel and the ceiling to accommodate the top track and motor (this increases to 140mm for very large doors requiring double springing).
Measuring for an 'Inbetween the Opening' Fit
If you do not have internal brickwork returns, the door must be installed directly between the brick pillars using the optional 'Inbetween Opening Installation Kit'.
- Width: Measure your brick to brick opening. To find your ordering width, you must deduct 180mm from this opening size (this allows for the two frame legs and a fitting tolerance).
- Height: Measure your floor to lintel height. To find your ordering height, you must deduct 120mm (if installing a manual door or using the additional low-headroom bracket) or deduct 140mm (for standard electric operation without the special bracket).
Important Depth Check: Sectional doors travel horizontally into the garage space. It is essential to check that your garage is deep enough to accommodate the full length of the tracks and the motor boom. Ensure you have clear, unobstructed space running back into the garage equivalent to the height of the door plus approximately 350mm to 600mm.
If you have any doubts whatsoever about measuring your garage opening, please contact our team for verification before placing your order.
