Market Leading German Engineering Tailored for the UK

Created specifically for British homes over 20 years ago by the internationally renowned manufacturer Teckentrup, the CarTeck collection provides a phenomenal variety of standard dimensions and classic styling options. Because these highly engineered insulated sectional doors are manufactured right here in the UK, customers enjoy incredibly fast delivery times alongside the precision of world class German construction. Teckentrup also backs their products with some of the strongest warranty terms and most dedicated customer support in the garage door industry, ensuring a confident and secure investment.

Creating a Warmer, More Functional Space

Fitting an insulated CarTeck sectional door instantly converts a freezing, draughty garage into a highly functional, climate controlled environment, offering the perfect defence against unpredictable British weather. Utilising 40 mm thick twin walled steel sections and comprehensive perimeter weather seals, it is vastly superior to a standard up and over door when it comes to blocking wind, rain and dust. Additionally, the smart vertical lifting mechanism ensures the door never arcs outwards, granting you the freedom to park your car immediately next to the garage while maximising internal driveway space.

Core Advantages of a Standard CarTeck Georgian Door

  • Built with rigid 40 mm double skin steel cassettes providing exceptional physical strength and long term security.
  • Supplied in a wide variety of standard dimensions designed to slot perfectly into the vast majority of typical UK garage openings.
  • Achieves outstanding thermal retention with an independently verified complete door U value of roughly 1.38 W/m²K on standard sizes.
  • Features highly flexible, heavy duty weather seals between every single panel, the surrounding frame and the floor to aggressively stop draughts.
  • Fully CE and UKCA certified, passing stringent European testing for safe operation, wind resistance and water deflection.

Premium Factory Applied Finishes

CarTeck stands alone as the only major sectional garage door brand in the UK that fully factory finishes all its products in house. This dedicated process guarantees impeccable quality control and delivers colour choices that are specifically curated for British architecture.

  • This elegant Georgian cassette design is available in four incredibly realistic wood effect choices.
  • The wider standard range encompasses 50 solid colours, with custom matching available for almost any RAL shade to suit your existing exterior features.
  • Customers can choose from up to four different external surface textures, including smooth or detailed woodgrain, at absolutely no extra cost.
  • Standard sized door packages include smartly colour matched frames and the option for neat frame covers to ensure a pristine installation finish.

Glazing Configurations for Georgian Panelling

Bring welcoming natural daylight into your garage by integrating beautiful factory installed windows directly into the top Georgian cassettes. You can perfectly match the traditional styling with classic rectangular window inserts featuring decorative cross mullions or opt for simple clear panes. All glazing uses highly durable, scratch resistant double polymer panes, and you can select clear, frosted, satin or tinted variations to achieve the exact level of privacy and light your garage requires.

The Luxury of Smart Electric Automation

Motorising your traditional style garage door introduces wonderful daily convenience, allowing you to open and close the garage from the warmth of your vehicle during heavy rain or dark nights. The CarTeck DRIVE and MOTOR electric operators are designed to be exceptionally quiet and powerful, easily lifting all standard Georgian door sizes. They incorporate highly sensitive force monitoring that immediately stops and reverses the door upon detecting any obstacle. Offered at highly competitive prices, these advanced automation systems can be easily upgraded with wireless external keypads, internal push buttons or smartphone controls via SOMweb or myQ technology.

Optimising Energy Efficiency for Integral Garages

For homes where the garage is directly integrated into the main house or sits beneath a bedroom, the phenomenal thermal retention and tight sealing of this sectional door can noticeably lower heating costs by severely limiting heat escape. A warmer, climate controlled garage is an absolute necessity if you plan to use the space as a home gym, laundry room or workshop, and it actively prevents dampness from ruining stored items. You can also add an intelligent motor with automatic humidity sensing, which slightly vents the door to clear moisture from a wet vehicle while keeping the garage as warm as possible.

Refined Lifting Gear and Operational Safety

Engineered using precisely pre tensioned concealed lifting springs and high quality running tracks, the standard Georgian door travels with an incredibly smooth and balanced motion that drastically limits wear and tear on the automation system. The highly refined lifting mechanism effortlessly manages the weight of the insulated cassette panels while ensuring decades of quiet, reliable operation. Every door and corresponding electric motor are strictly tested as a unified package to meet BS EN 13241 standards, guaranteeing you receive a deeply integrated and legally certified safety system.

Choose Door Panel Colour Finish:Wood colour options
Create an elegant look with this modern steel door in a classic wood effect in either Golden oak and Winchester Oak in a laminate finish or Rosewood and Night oak in a painted finish.

Frame legs and Head to compliment door colour:
Although many sectional garage doors are fitted behind the garage opening so you don’t see the sub frame you will still see the edge of the frame where it has a small return section. The standard frame leg and head cover colour is white, alternatively, colours can be selected to compliment your door. These colours will be in a painted finish and not an exact match to the main door.

Installation Position:
Tell us whether you are fitting the door behind or inbetween the structural opening.
Sectional garage doors were originally designed to install behind the structural opening of a garage but it is now possible to fit the door inbetween if required – when there are no returns, internal obstacles, etc.
The sizes for ordering should be carefully calculated when fitting inbetween the opening reducing the ordering width by the frame legs and head section along with a tolerance for fitting too. See our ‘Measure’ tab for full details.

Inbetween Opening Installation Kit:
If fitting the door inbetween the structural opening you will need this kit to secure the steel sub frame to the opening with the special set of bracketry.

Choose Remote Control Operator Model
We highly recommend the Carteck Drive 600Nm electric operator for the Carteck Sectional door range. The 600NM is only a fraction more than the 500Nm but it is 33% faster in opening speed and more powerful too obviously and hence our operator of choice for this door range.
The standard Carteck Drive 600Nm is a one piece integrated unit with boom, motor and control in one unit to mount above the door. The Drive Pro 600Nm has a separate control unit than can be mounted wherever is most convenient in your garage to suit.
Both systems have remote control operation as standard and both have an integrated courtesy LED light built in which operated when the motor is used and switches off automatically. Add options for additional control as required from our options list

Emergency External Release for garages with a second entrance:
If you have no other means of access into your garage then we strongly advise you have an emergency manual release mechanism. It is a key cylinder operated from the outside of the door which provides a manual facility to disengage the motor drive from the door enabling the door to be lifted manually when there is a power failure.

Wireless 2 function Wall Switch:
This is a remote control device in the form of a wall mounted 2 button switch to control one or 2 garage doors from inside your garage or home. Like a light switch but without and cables and a battery remote control signal for operation. (Called Access Pack 2).

*If fitting between the opening, please deduct 180mm from the opening width to determine the ordering width.
Deduct 120mm for manual doors and 140mm for electric operation (unless the additional fitting bracket is purchased then 120mm applies) from the opening height to determine the ordering height.

Remote Control Electric Operator:
The Carteck Drive 600N can lift any size door.
The integrated drive and control unit of the Carteck Drive fits discreetly above the door.
The fixed chain drive of the Carteck Drive range is quieter and renowned for long-term reliability compared to revolving chain or belt designs.

The Carteck Drive 600N comes with x2 Pearl Handsets as standard. The Pearl transmitters have 4-function buttons.

The difference between the Carteck Drive and the Drive Pro:

The Carteck Drive Pro has a seperate control unit that can be mounted by an existing power outlet or at a convenient position in the garage, perhaps by a side access door so you can open or close the door using the push buttons on the front of the control unit as you leave or enter your garage.

Additional accessories are available for the Drive 600 (Pro).

Please Note: Door heights greater than 2375mm, a 1096mm rail extension will be required at an extra cost.

Safer, Simpler Installation with Preloaded Tension Springs

Unlike many other sectional garage doors that rely on complex and potentially dangerous high-tension torsion springs mounted directly above the door, the CarTeck system utilises a far safer, multi-spring tension system.

To make installation as straightforward and safe as possible, all single layer spring trays for standard CarTeck doors are now supplied fully pre-assembled straight from the factory. The high level tension springs come preloaded within their fully enclosed steel trays, complete with the lifting cables already perfectly routed and retained by anti-twist brackets. This incredibly smart design not only prevents dirt from entering the mechanism, boosting durability, but it also dramatically speeds up the installation process on site. The multiple spring system evenly balances the weight of the door panels, whilst the dual retaining cables reliably support the door in all situations, meaning it remains safe and operational even in an emergency. Because the springs are safely housed within these steel channels, tensioning the door is significantly safer and easier than wrestling with an exposed torsion spring bar.

How to Measure for Your New CarTeck Sectional Door

Measuring for a sectional garage door is straightforward once you understand how the dimensions work. All CarTeck sectional doors are ordered by their internal structural opening dimensions (the actual drive through width and height). Unlike some other door types, the steel installation frame is always calculated as an addition or reduction to these internal dimensions, depending on your chosen installation position.

For quick visual reference, please refer to the 3D technical drawings lower down on this page. These clearly show how the frame fits in relation to the opening.

Measuring for a 'Behind the Opening' Fit (Standard)

This is the ideal and most common way to install a sectional door. The door and its steel framework sit entirely on the inner face of the garage wall.

  • Width: Measure the brick to brick width of your garage opening in several places. Your ordering width is simply the smallest of these measurements.
  • Height: Measure from the finished floor level to the underside of the lintel. Your ordering height is this exact measurement.
  • Check your clearances: Because the frame sits behind the brickwork, you must ensure you have sufficient internal space. You will need a minimum of 85mm to 90mm of clear sideroom on both the left and right sides of the opening to accommodate the frame legs.
  • Check your headroom: You must also have a minimum of 120mm of clear headroom between the lintel and the ceiling to accommodate the top track and motor (this increases to 140mm for very large doors requiring double springing).

Measuring for an 'Inbetween the Opening' Fit

If you do not have internal brickwork returns, the door must be installed directly between the brick pillars using the optional 'Inbetween Opening Installation Kit'.

  • Width: Measure your brick to brick opening. To find your ordering width, you must deduct 180mm from this opening size (this allows for the two frame legs and a fitting tolerance).
  • Height: Measure your floor to lintel height. To find your ordering height, you must deduct 120mm (if installing a manual door or using the additional low-headroom bracket) or deduct 140mm (for standard electric operation without the special bracket).

Important Depth Check: Sectional doors travel horizontally into the garage space. It is essential to check that your garage is deep enough to accommodate the full length of the tracks and the motor boom. Ensure you have clear, unobstructed space running back into the garage equivalent to the height of the door plus approximately 350mm to 600mm.

If you have any doubts whatsoever about measuring your garage opening, please contact our team for verification before placing your order.
