Operating vertically on precision tracks, the door travels upward and rests parallel to the garage ceiling, maximising the available parking space on the driveway and inside the garage. There is no out-swing on opening, meaning you can park right up to the door without any restriction.

Size Options and Panel Configuration

The SLX Vision is available in a wide range of made to measure sizes to suit almost any residential or commercial garage opening. The number of glazed sections is determined by the door height:

• 4 sections: Doors up to 2280mm high.
• 5 sections: Doors up to 2835mm high.
• 6 sections: Doors up to 3000mm high.

Maximum door width is 4000mm and maximum door height is 3000mm. Full width glazing with no mullion is available up to 3250mm wide.

Weather Performance and Thermal Efficiency

While the aesthetic is dominated by glass, weatherproofing is taken seriously. The doorset features EPDM header and floor seals, with a centre seal between each panel section to ensure effective draught resistance across the full height of the door. The door carries a thermal transmittance value of 3.5 W/m²K and has been independently tested and CE marked, with a Class 2 rating for windload resistance, watertightness, and air permeability.

Choose Door Panel Colour Finish:
Select your preferred powder coat colour finish for the outer framework on the door panels from a range of 16 Trend colours offered. RAL references for colours are provided as a guide only to the nearest similar RAL colour and colours will not match other RAL finishes with different coating processes, gloss content, and surface texture finishes. The surface finish for the door panel frames is a smooth finish. Where the door is exposed to direct and lengthy sunlight, darker colours should be avoided.

Frame Legs and Head to Match Door Colour:
Choose the colour you require for the outer steel frame system. Although many sectional garage doors are fitted behind the garage opening so you don’t see the sub frame, you will still see the edge of the frame where it has a small return section. Standard colour is white, but if any of the frame is showing or it is fitted in-between the opening, you can contrast or match the door colour to the door panel colour if required.

Door Panel Glazing Options:
Choose the glazing which is right for your application. All windows are double glazed as standard using a polymer scratch-resistant glazing for safety, security, and weight reduction. For the SLX Vision model, you have Clear, Satin, and Frosted options, with three other variations possible on a tinted glazing – Green tint (approx. 70% transmission), Brown tint (approx. 50% transmission), and Grey tint (approx. 43% transmission).

Installation Position:
Tell us whether you are fitting the door behind or in-between the structural opening. Sectional garage doors were originally designed to install behind the structural opening of a garage, but it is now possible to fit the door in-between if required – when there are no returns, internal obstacles, etc. The sizes for ordering should be carefully calculated when fitting in-between the opening, reducing the ordering width by the frame legs and head section along with a tolerance for fitting too. Between Opening Installation Kit:
If fitting the door in-between the structural opening, you will need this kit to secure the steel sub frame to the opening with a special set of bracketry.

Choose Remote Control Operator Model (Included in Package):
We have included the CarTeck Drive 600Nm electric operator as standard in this electric sectional door package. The 600Nm is only a fraction more than the 500Nm but it is 33% faster in opening speed and more powerful, making it our operator of choice for this door range.
The standard CarTeck Drive 600Nm is a one-piece integrated unit with boom, motor, and control in one unit to mount above the door. The Drive Pro 600Nm has a separate control unit that can be mounted wherever is most convenient in your garage to suit. Both systems have remote control operation as standard and both feature an integrated courtesy LED light that operates when the motor is used and switches off automatically. Add options for additional control as required from our options list.

Emergency External Release for garages without a second entrance:
If you have no other means of access into your garage, then we strongly advise you have an emergency manual release mechanism. It is a key cylinder operated from the outside of the door which provides a manual facility to disengage the motor drive from the door, enabling the door to be lifted manually in the event of a power failure.

Wireless 2 Function Wall Switch (Access Pack 2):
This is a remote control device in the form of a wall-mounted 2-button switch to control one or two garage doors from inside your garage or home. It works like a light switch but without any cables, using a battery-powered remote control signal for operation.

The vision panels utilise 20mm thick polymer double glazing, specifically chosen for its scratch resistant properties, excellent durability, and lightweight safety compared to traditional glass.

Design Constraints and Mullions
To ensure the door maintains its structural integrity, full width uninterrupted panoramic glazing is available on doors up to 3250mm wide. For door widths between 3251mm and the maximum 4000mm, a single central mullion is factory fitted into the aluminium framework.

Lifting Gear and Mechanics
The SLX Vision utilises CarTeck's market leading concealed lifting gear. The tension springs are completely concealed high up within the top tracks, ensuring a clean, uncluttered internal appearance while providing smooth, perfectly balanced vertical operation. This space saving design ensures the door opens vertically and tracks back parallel to the ceiling with zero outward swing.

Safety and Certification
All CarTeck sectional doors are independently tested to comply with stringent European safety standards. The doors feature finger safe panel joints, an anti drop safety mechanism, and obstacle detection (when used with the recommended CarTeck Drive operators). Installation Guidance: CarTeck Vision Glass Sectional Doors

Installing a CarTeck GSA or SLX Vision sectional door follows the same fundamental, well-proven tracking and lifting mechanics as standard steel sectional doors. Any experienced tradesperson or competent DIY installer familiar with sectional garage doors will find the process straightforward. However, due to the premium materials used, there are a few specific handling considerations to keep in mind for a smooth installation.

1. Handling the Glazed Panels

While the 20mm polymer double glazing is significantly lighter and safer than traditional glass, the 40mm extruded aluminium framework makes these panels more rigid and slightly heavier than standard foam-filled steel panels. We always recommend a two-person lift to carefully guide the panels into the horizontal tracks. To protect the high-quality factory powder coating, always rest the panels on soft, non-abrasive materials (such as padded trestles or heavy blankets) prior to fitting.

2. Ensuring a Perfectly Square Frame

Because the aluminium and polymer panels are highly rigid, they do not flex. It is therefore crucial that the steel vertical and horizontal tracking system is installed perfectly plumb, level, and square. Taking extra time to ensure your tracking is perfectly aligned will guarantee the rigid panels glide smoothly without binding, and that the weather strips seal perfectly against the framework.

3. Balancing the Springs

The CarTeck Vision range utilises a neat, concealed tension spring system located within the high-level tracks. Because the panel weights differ slightly from standard steel doors, pay close attention to the manufacturer's tensioning guidelines. You want to ensure the door is balanced precisely so that it holds its position when manually disengaged, which ensures your electric operator runs effortlessly.

4. Removing the Protective Film

The polymer double glazing is supplied with a protective transit film. Because polymer can be scratched by sharp metal objects, please do not use Stanley knives or metal scrapers near the glazing to remove this film. Simply peel the film away carefully by hand once the installation is completely finished and the surrounding area is free from construction dust.

The warranty periods below apply only to products that have been correctly installed as per the manufacturer instructions, maintained by a recognised garage door specialist, and operated and cleaned in accordance with the requirements set out in the operating and maintenance manuals.

10 Year Manufacturer's Guarantee

• On aluminium profiles against structural failure.
• On material and manufacturing flaws of all non moving parts of the frame that are verifiably unusable or whose usability is substantially compromised.
• On the floor seal, intermediate seals, side seals, and lintel seal against rotting.

5 Year Manufacturer's Guarantee

• On rollers, hinges, cable pulleys, cables, and standard springs (based on a maximum of 5 opening and closing cycles per day).

2 Year Manufacturer's Guarantee

• On polymer glazing and aluminium window units.

Please note: The guarantee does not apply to doors that are subjected to extreme conditions, such as corrosive influences resulting from use in a coastal climate with a high salt content in the air.

If fitting between the opening, please deduct 180mm from the opening width to determine the ordering width.
Deduct 120mm for manual doors and 140mm for electric operation (unless the additional fitting bracket is purchased then 120mm applies) from the opening height to determine the ordering height.
