Hormann LPU42 S Ribbed Woodgrain (White) Insulated Sectional Door garage door Steel Hormann

If you choose this sectional garage door you will have the effect of timber however without the maintenance. With the panels under a manufacturer's warranty you can rest assured these are a quality factory paint finish. The sections each have ribs across giving the appearance of a horizontally laid out tongue and groove planking, with the added advantage of insulation. 

These doors are 42mm thick double skinned steel with a poly foam filling to provide a superior insulation both against the cold and heat, with a rubber seal all the way around, and with a straight flat ground the bottom panel with its deep rubber strip on the bottom edge, can sit down fully and keep the draughts out. 

If you choose to upgrade to include a Hormann Electric Operator for this door, you can omit the handle therefore securing your building against intrusion to a high standard. However if you choose to keep it manual, you will have a black handle set to the side that the locks engage and a spare key, the whole set of panels sit snugly inside one another when down, and are all spring assisted so it is easy to slide them open and shut at will. 

Available in white as standard however you can upgrade to a wide choice of factory finished and warrantied RAL colours whilst keeping this woodgrain Standard rib design. 

Domestic garage door - low to medium useage.

Sectional doors come as standard without a door handle set and lock.

These are to be ordered separately and come complete with a template for on-site fitting.

For garages without a second entrance an emergency release is required.

External emergency release 

The emergency manual release is required on any remote control electric door where there is no other means of access to the garage. It is used in a power failure to release the top panel of the garage door from the electric operator towing arm. We will send the appropriate release mechanism depending on whether the door has a handle set or not. If it does not have a handle the emergency release is a small key access point drilled into the top panel of the door.

Frame Cover Profiles

The cover profiles are to cover the frame legs when exposed. ALL Hormann sectional door frame legs are white powdercoated as standard regardless of the door colour chosen. These frame covers are designed to match the chosen colour of the garage door and are supplied as a pair to the height of the door ordered.

Choose from either 55mm wide or 90mm wide profiles depending on whether the frame is partially showing behind an opening or fully exposed inbetween.

Inbetween opening installation kit

If you are fitting inbetween the structural garage opening this installation kit is required to adapt the steel frame legs which are designed as standard for behind opening fitting.

The upright legs of the steel frame when fitted inbetween will have a series of factory drilled holes showing and are always white powdercoated whatever door colour finish is ordered.

The new BiSecur, hand held transmitters for opening automatic doors and gates, feature bi-directional FM radio signals that use the same 128 bit encryption employed by banks for online banking security. Not only does this system make the transmitters more secure but also means that the signal is more reliable and gives extended operating distances.

Another benefit of the new BiSecur system, is that it includes a remote status query. A simple push of a button will tell you whether an out of sight door is open or closed. The multicolour LED light shows red if the door is open and green if closed. The door can be closed even when out of sight, the LED displaying a blue light until the door is closed and the light turns to green. In this circumstance it is recommended that an additional photocell is installed for added safety.

Track Application

For Silkgrain doors, Track Application Z is available:
    Up to a height of 2625 for doors up to 3000 wide.

For non-Silkgrain doors, Track Application Z is available:
    Up to a height of 2625 for doors up to 3250 wide.
    Up to a height of 2375 for doors up to 3500 wide.

This is the Series 3 operator, the very latest model. 

The new SupraMatic also features all new easy-to-use programming where all of the operator functions can be set simply by entering a two digit code. The halogen, or optional LED, lighting can be operated independently either via the handset or optional push button switch. Warranty

Hörmann products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and leave our factory only after rigorous quality testing. However, if you should have grounds for complaint, this section tells you what our door warranty offers, and how to go about making your claim.

In the unlikely event of a warranty claim becoming necessary, please contact the dealer or distributor who originally supplied your garage door. Your dealer should then supply details of the claim, together with a copy of the warranty card provided with the door and proof of purchase to the Product Services Department at Hörmann (UK) Ltd. To enable your claim under warranty to be processed as quickly as possible, you should provide the following details:

1 Your name, address and telephone number

2 Original invoice with date of purchase

3 Product description/door type and product number

4 Description of defect

An assessment of the claim will then be made. This may require Hörmann to inspect the product in-situ. In the event that there is no legitimate warranty claim under the terms specified herein, you may be liable for the costs of the inspection visit. We strongly recommend that you take note of the care and usage instructions displayed on the stickers on the back of your garage door, and on the page opposite, and that you follow these instructions throughout.

Hörmann (UK) Ltd Garage Door Warranty

Warranty Period The purchaser is granted a warranty covering the safe and reliable function of the Hörmann garage door for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase. A 5 year warranty applies to springs, wire cables, track rollers, hinges and guide rollers. The warranty period for replacement parts is 6 months or to the end of the current warranty period, whichever is longer. In the case of foilcoated timber-effect, a warranty of 5 years is granted, for timber and GRP doors a warranty of 2 years is granted on the door panels alone under the terms and conditions specified herein. The door mechanism and steel frame (if applicable) is covered by the 10 year warranty period.

Requirements 

Warranty claims are only applicable in the country where the garage door was purchased. The product must have been purchased through our authorised distribution channels. The warranty only covers damage to the contract object. The fully completed warranty card together with the receipt of purchase correspondingly dated substantiates your right to claim under the warranty.

Performance 

During the warranty period we undertake to rectify any and all defects to the Hörmann product which can be proved to be attributed to a material or manufacturing fault. We pledge at our discretion either to exchange the defective merchandise for faultless merchandise, repair it or allow a reduction in price. We do not accept costs for dismantling and installation nor for carriage.

Replaced parts become our property.

The warranty does not cover damage caused through:

• normal wear and tear

• improper installation

• negligent care and maintenance

• improper initial and subsequent operation

• negligent or wanton destruction

• external influences such as fire, water, salts, alkaline solutions, acids, abnormal environmental influences

• mechanical damage through improper transport and fitting

• priming and other surface protection treatments

• incorrect or too late applied surface protection treatments

• repair by non-qualified persons

• using non-Hörmann parts without the approval of the manufacturer

• removal of the product number or making it unidentifiable

Electric Operator Warranty

A separate 5 year warranty is granted on our electric operators. This includes operator mechanics, motor and motor control systems. A 2 year warranty is granted on radio equipment, accessories and system controls. There is no warranty on consumables (e.g. fuses, batteries, bulbs etc.).

User Information/Care

Finish - Steel Doors

The coating process applied to the door and chassis is environmentally friendly. Minor scratches or marks are not covered under the conditions of our warranty and should be repaired immediately to prevent corrosion and deterioration of the panel. Corrosive substances such as acids, alkalines, and salts, etc. should be cleaned from the door immediately; failure to do so will result in deterioration of the finish, which will not be covered under our warranty. Should deterioration of the finish start to occur you will need to repaint your door immediately. Prepare the surface lightly with wet and dry. Then treat with solvent based 2 pack epoxy wash primer and a normal commercial paint (cellulose paint must not be used). Hörmann steel doors are a finished product. They do not require re-painting on site. They are however not immune to damage, which can occur at any stage of the handling of the product from factory to site.

Finish - Timber Doors

Timber panels are coated with a neutralising base-stain. Doors must be stored upright, under cover, with wrapping intact, until wrapping is removed. As soon as the door is unwrapped, one coat of a good quality basecoat primer must be applied to both sides of the door. Immediately after installation, your timber doors require a further two coats of a good quality exterior wood finish on both sides. Initial application and periodic treatment should be carried out strictly in accordance with the woodstain manufacturer's instructions. Failure to follow these instructions will result in early deterioration of the timber panel.

Finish - GRP Doors

GRP door panels should periodically washed down using water. This should be done more frequently if fitted near the sea. Bird droppings will bleach the finish on GRP. and should be removed using water as soon as possible. GRP doors should not be painted over.

Paint Finish - Steel Doors

Minor surface damage can easily be repaired using touch up sprays or sticks without invalidating warranties.
